It's one of those enormously important subjects we think we know about, but... I find myself now thinking it may be very wise to do a spot check on my home. Time to replace the shower curtains and check the window fittings!

Mold can mess up your whole life, causing poor health and high levels of cognitive dysfunction.

Thanks for sharing. I think it was an interesting movie and another not to forget factor that mold can influence health. I only found the music a bit overdramatic. What was interesting that mold doesn't like eggs, beef, carrots and broccoli and I was thinking what about normal meat and fat and if a keto or paleo diet could be of help for mold affective people in general.

Oops, that's just the trailer.

I also found a vimeo link but it cannot be shared because of some privacy settings and you cannot copy and past it in a browser. But I think you could even enter a fake email addresses if you like to get access.

Thanks for sharing. :) :) :)

Aluminum hardware (windows, doors) do not allow air flow, all the moisture remains in the apartment and becomes an ideal ground for fungi. In the bathrooms, shower sign is desirable, if there is a window that opened for ventilation of the room, but anyway ..
The stores are offering various toxic coatings, personally I tried only slightly diluted Varakin and cleaned up. After the first rains, all over again.
A friend of mine suggested I try the tea tree oil, it has the purpose of disinfection, helps cleanse and remove fungus.

Tea tree essential oil in a natural and non-toxic way to effectively remove mold and fungus.

Recipe: In a plastic spray bottle, mix half a liter of water and 10 ml of tea tree oil, liquid scattered through the places where the mold is the most expensive, then let stand for 30 minutes, and then with a sponge and warm water go over all surfaces and rinse. (I I used an old toothbrush)

I wonder if turpentine would be as effective as tea tree oil.
Yes, but I am not shure, I think it is only for the wooden part of who attacked the fungus

I've had two friends very obviously and directly affected by terrible mold problems, living in rented spaces which should by all rights have been condemned. They did not know the spaces were problematic when they first moved in. -One fell into all-body suffering, diagnosed with fibromyalgia, (but they weren' t really sure). She could barely move most days, and after a year was essentially reduced from being active and healthy to disabled. When she moved out of the basement apartment, they found black mold all over the wall behind the couch. Apparently, the landlord had simply scraped it off and painted over it before she moved in. -I never kept up with her, but I wonder (and hope) her condition improved after leaving.

I've always made a point of living up in the air; in top floors or attic apartments when renting rooms in older houses. -I find the mold prefers basements and lower levels. A good roof keeps top floors quite dry and there's ample air flow. Mold has never been a problem, I think, for me.

-Though, now that I ponder on the subject.., I had terrible allergies and asthma problems when I lived at my parent's place in my old basement bedroom. That cleared up immediately upon moving out. -I always put it down to there being less plant life downtown where I moved to, and thus, less pollen. -But that logic doesn't hold as I live surrounded by wilderness today and I have no allergy issues at all...

Hmm...

Apparently Orange Oil is effective at killing the mold spores. Also Oil of Cloves.
Some products will bleach them, but will not kill them.
I was reading a thread today which was discussing how Montmorillonite or Bentonite Clay is effective at trapping and eliminating aflatoxins, which are produced by mold.
I have not tried it, but it may be worth a go.

I just finished watching this documentary that Dave Asprey, the creator of Bulletproof Coffee, came out with highlighting the effects of mold toxicity on people and brain functions. According to the documentary, mold can do damage to the amygdala.

wikipedia said:
Shown in research to perform a primary role in the processing of memory, decision-making, and emotional reactions, the amygdalae are considered part of the limbic system

One person interviewed talked about how some scans revealed that the left side of her brain was shriveling up due to exposure. Which according to one doctor interviewed who has done brain scans, shows is a regular occurrence when dealing with toxic mold exposure.

Anyways, it's something to look into for sure and they highlight that about 28% of the population have a genetic susceptibility to mold toxicity - meaning you can have 3 people in a moldy environment and 1 person starts getting symptoms.

Here's the link to the free screening of the movie which is only available until midnight tonight. :/
