Moundsville Penn

A Disturbance in the Force
My team is investigating Moundsville Penn next weekend, we have it for the night. Any thoughts has anyone here done it?
Last year we did Waverly Hills, personally I found it overrated.

Hi Dave,

Could you give us a little background about this site?

I think he mean this site, herondancer

Hi there, my name is Dave Gibb I am the director for CHAPS, the Canadian Haunting and Paranormal Society.
I hope to get in some good discussion here
chaps presented it in is intro here http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php?topic=23059.msg251784#msg251784

Ooops, sorry, my question wasn't that clear. :( I was hoping Dave would post a bit of information about Moundsville and its history, and why he thinks it's worth taking his team there.

edit: grammar

Background it was a Penn made in the gothic style, 1860's era. Was used until the 80's where the pop was tripled, there had been a few riots and such. It is just a place of interest for us, once in a while we look for a road trip. Last year it was Waverly Hills, which for that matter was pretty boring IMO.

Not sure if it is worth it. In my conversations with Dale Kaczmerek who is another investigator of some credit, says that he has had good experiences here so that sold it for me.

Hi CHAPS

Thanks for this. Just wanted to point out, though, that this is an international forum - so not everyone is going to be familiar with some of the terms you use, e.g. "Penn", "pop was tripled", unspecified "riots", and so on.

Speaking just for myself, I couldn't understand anything of what you were talking about. A search on "Penn" led nowhere. Eventually, though, I came across this, and then everything became clear:

West Virginia State Penitentiary

So "Penn" means prison, and "pop" means prison population, or number of prisoners. I think this was one of the major sticking points here, and was why clarification was sought from you.

I'm not trying to get at you - just pointing out that confusion can sometimes lie with the obvious, e.g. in this case, cryptic abbreviations.

Here is the video of the investigation, largely shortened mind you
