MSG... What's the difference?

There are many foods that are naturally high in MSG... tomato, peas, meats, nuts, to name a few. Why is it that the MSG in processed foods causes health problems while the naturally occuring MSG does not? It it because of the quantities, some by-product, maybe it does cause problems in its natural foods? Anyone have any insight on the situation?
