Music that helps re-balance

Hi Zin, based on the songs you selected I kind of wonder if you'd enjoy Animal Collective. They always energize me and cheer me up, although their most accessible album (Merriweather Post Pavilion) is less frenetic and syncopated than some of the songs you selected. My favorites off that album are my girls, summertime clothes, and lion in a coma.
I agree with your comments on tool. They're very negative in their energy... and scraping a little beneath the surface I don't find it particularly artful either. I loved them as an angsty teen though.

I loved Aenema by Tool. Though it's a bit too scathing for me to use it as a tool to protect or raise FVR, but who am I to decide that?

I think the last time I really resonated with the Tool track was when I was tired of being bombarded by the blue vs gold dress that went viral within the past year or so. I blame that blow up on the celebrity feedback regarding the campaign. It made me go back into watching Bill Hicks videos as well as a result.

The connections between Hicks and Tool are interesting. It's a shame I haven't really resonated with any of their work after this LP though.

Yeah I would agree with you both about Tool, it's interesting how music tastes evolve, I haven't listened to anything "aggressive" in a fair while. I have found folk to be more my preference of late, so I think I would be interpreting balancing as music that helps me relax like whitecaost, I feel it gives me "space" to think/contemplate. Especially of late I've been getting into Ben Howard
