Seems to be just another gag for funding. Imho its not even that big a discovery, unless you're super interested in extreme thermophiles and the like.

Only distraction from economic meltdown and policy if you ask me, but it's probably also one step further to open people to life "out there"!

May also be distraction from TSA stuff, kinda like Wikileaks, which is also a lot of hype but really just hot air and no substance.

Seems like other scientists are suggesting that the findings by NASA were perhaps "faked".
