Need smoking articles, statistics

I need some articles and statistics on how smoking is good for you. I put this post in the smoking thread, but couldn't find it or any relplies, so thought I'd hang it in the Diet and Health.

What I need are links to such things as firemen that are protected from fumes of house fires because they smoke; statistics that show that those who tended to the sick and smoked in the early 1900's during the great flu epidemic did not necessarily get the flu, whereas those that didn't smoke got the flu; info on how smoking is anti-inflamatory; links that show that doctors that have opened up the chests of those that smoked and nonsmokers and how the lungs of those that smoked were much more healthier; that smoking increases creativity; etc. etc;

If anyone can point to any links and articles that show the benefits of smoking, I'd be grateful.

Thanks,
Samuel

Go to sott.net, enter "intitle: smoking" into the search field. It will give you 25 pages (about 250 articles) with "smoking" in the title. :)

A repository of links, all put together in a concise and accessible format, would serve a lot of people. I've found myself in that position where I needed that one smoking article or another and failed to find it. Does such a collection exist, or shall I put it together?

There are books, too. There are a number of authors who have written on this subject, along with scientific studies as referenced in SoTT suggested by Data, above. Here is one sample of a website and author, Michael McFadden in Dissecting Antismokers' Brains.

Another good resource is _http://www.forces.org/evidence/index.htm.
They have a huge body of published research in regards to all sorts of topics, incl. therapeutic benefits of smoking, and exposing the passive smoke scam.
