First I opened the website and there you can sign up easily and if you want to buy a book you can pay via credit card. Then I downloaded the app and that is even easier, I could pay via "phone" like how you pay for an app. For me it seems pretty straight-forward and easy

I know that @Laura's cloned voice can also be translated into other languages, I hope it can be translated into Spanish and Italian.
I would love to reread Laura's books, but due to time constraints, it's difficult for me.
With audiobooks, on the other hand, I have plenty of time!
It's possible that this way I could read all the books from Pilule Rouge

How was it done?

The audiobook version was created by cloning Laura's voice (several hours of recordings), and with the help of Artificial Intelligence. After that, we edited each file as carefully as possible, "training" AI to pronounce things correctly, and to sound more natural. This is not a perfect system but we are quite happy with the result, and hope that you will be too! With the little glitches and imperfections of the system, you can still enjoy engaging your imagination with the text.

Volume II is in the works.

Why not on Audible?

We would have liked to, but unfortunately, Amazon refuses to accept audiobooks that are not fully read by the author (THAT would take months of recording, being how prolific a writer Laura is!), and for AI assistance, it would have been extremely mechanical sounding. It wouldn't allow us to clone Laura's voice. But we are planning on uploading the books on other platforms as well, such as Spotify and inAudio.

Yeah… I bought the audiobook! It was a very easy process. I followed the link, downloaded the ElevenReader app and used Apply Pay to pay for it - note it changed the price from US$ to British £ automatically. Easy peasy. Thanks so much x

I’ve never been much into audiobooks, but since these days I spend more time listening to videos than reading, I’m definitely interested now. Also it's good timing, currently re-reading the first volume of The Wave, so I’ll be sure to check out the audiobook. Thanks to the entire team!

Easy to access, download the app search for the wave, buy and listen there’s a bunch of free classics on the app too .. like The odyssey etc .. ther are also functions that let you use pdfs if you have a heap like I do .. I think you might need the payed version if you listen to those a lot though .. will check and let you all know


Just a side note to those who like audio, if you use the Substack app, you can get the app to read the article to you, so you can listen to all
Laura’s, Ark’s, Harrison’s and Scottie’s and all the rest Substack articles. The AI voice isn’t as good as listening to Laura but it’s pretty good imo … and allows me to keep up with all the latest and greatest….

It does read pdfs … just uploaded one of the Caesar books and I’m using Michael Canes voice pretty good haha .. with the pdf it also shows you the text like a teleprompter …lm not sure how much listening time there is on the free version, but so far so good. Also you can link to webpages and get it to read that, I tried the ponerology Substack and it came back with an error but read Sott article no worries.. fwiw

Haha I’ve only tried a few, the Michael Can one does make me smile and they do seem pretty on the money … well, as on the money as current AI can be ..

Oh thanks mate, well I guess if I use it a lot it might be worth signing up, will see how I go .. about $20 aus dollars a month isn’t too bad .. especially since it can read pdfs
