From the trailer it's clear that there is a strong Biblical gloss, but timing and theme is interesting nevertheless.

Can't remember the site, but it said the out of town screenings didn't go so well.... so re-edit, and from the clip I saw, it probably won't work much, seems a very typical plotline, a little late to redo the script for a reshoot, and the whole biblical gloss did look heavy, might work better as a comedy like 'Evan Almighty', and didn't it look like the Stone Age, Neolithic or something? Like they have the necessary time, energy and resources to build a huge ship? Seems the propaganda never ends, just add a sword battle for control of the Ark once the storm starts and a few name stars and Presto! an instant dud! Reminds me of the film '2012' Seems a lack of creativity reigns supreme in most every script on tv/film with zombies, werewolves, dracula types, monsters, end-of-the-world disasters scenarios... seems the meme is tapped out and they are merely repeating themselves these days, spinning their wheels same as the rest of society.

That's true, but since the screenwriter and director is Darren Aronofsky ("The Fountain", "The Wrestler") this movie might not be so bad.

I agree, the "The Fountain" had an effect on me for sure & "The Wrestler" was good. Thing is, the 1st ten seconds of "Noah's trailer has meteors raining down! The rest of it made me laugh too, everyone wanting in to the ark, & all animals descending on the ark at the same time.

Just saw the trailer and immediately searched the forum if anyone mentioned. I agree too, about the coincidence (association with Laura's work) & timing (2014). Lol, I chuckled at the comet/meteor raining down scene.

Lol, I chuckled at the comet/meteor raining down scene.

I did not. I saw the trailer for NOAH last night and watching a rain of comets hitting the earth and a flood catastrophe beginning its purge gave me shivers, and the thought
that "everyone" seems to intuit what is about to happen and still the world blunders blithely on . . .

. . . came home and checked my "go" bag.

I see. My reaction to it probably had to do with my realization of the 'synchronicity' involved.

That's also from the guy who did Requiem for a dream.. What a horrible, horrible movie. Too bad you can't unsee things.

Used to work as a peon at a Hollywood marketing company and if the trailer was that bad, it's gonna sit on the shelf or go straight to video/pay per view etc... whatever they can get without spending more money on it. Looked like a dud, and that was the trailer..... marketing dept for that studio must have  A good, but 'not for primetime' film will at least get a little play, but without any buzz, will be allowed to languish at the theatres after a simple 2 wk run.. and that's to give it a little recognition for the after-market play... so potential customers at least recognize the print ad... at least a little. It's rather telling that nothing's been heard on it since this trailer... or at least that I've seen... not that I'm looking, but still, word gets out... has to, to promote the project as cheaply as possible.... The trailer makes the script look bad, and that's not good, as it's the trailer... that's about as good as any film ever gets, so if it looks bad... Maybe that feeds those 'sheets of rain'? ;)

New Noah's-ark-themed movie out March 28

How timely.

I just saw an ad for a new movie based on the story of Noah is due to come out on March 28. The TV trailer showed swarms of meteors hitting the earth and mobs of terrified people trying to get on the ark. It's got an all-star cast including Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins and Jennifer Connelly and the special effects are great.

Here's the official movie site with trailer.
