During its 30-day flight, more than 70 physiological, morphological, genetic and molecular-biological experiments
will be conducted in support of long-duration interplanetary flights including Mars missions.
In addition, Bion-1M carries a number of Russian and foreign microsatellites that will gradually detach
from the spacecraft in the next two days and go on their individual missions.

Maybe a sign for a careful observer or a simple coincidence.

Also there is a rise in discovery of new habitable planets, as has been stated in some previous session by the C's.

Good points. There has also been a raft of recent private space venture announcements. Meteor mining and pleasure space flights to name two. I noted how rapidly they were stating these projects could be up and running when historically space exploration plans are developed over lengthy periods.

Asteroid-mining 'FireFlys' will be ready for action by 2015, vows space firm

The venture says that it will have its first class of 55lb (25kg) "FireFly" probes ready for action by 2015, hitching a ride on other commercial launches, and during their six-month missions will explore Near Earth Objects (NEO) for useful materials.

The second generation of larger probes, dubbed DragonFlies, will be sent off by 2016 to land on and mine asteroids, producing around 60lb to 150lbs (27kg to 68kg) of finished cargo on a two to four-year mission. The design for this second class of spacecraft is still under review but FireFly designs are largely sorted.

Another new asteroid-mining firm: 'First commercial space fleet'

A new space mining venture is all set to do battle with James Cameron’s asteroid mining outfit in an industry that isn’t even certain to be possible yet.

Deep Space Industries will announce “the world’s first fleet of commercial asteroid-prospecting spacecraft” later today in Santa Monica. The cosmic drill firm’s founders, “who include leaders in the space field”, will also be unveiled.

Adventurer and film-maker James Cameron announced early last year that he would join forces with Googlers Larry Page and Eric Schmidt, along with former Microsoftie Charles Simonyi and others, to set up his own asteroid mining biz, Planetary Resources.
