The Norway Post said:

This claim has gotten alot of press here in Norway and the scientists claim that they have solved the "Hessdalen-mystery" and that there is no UFOs at all (as in 'intelligent' disc-shaped ships). However, disc-shaped crafts have been observed there (and in areas around) even in daytime but the scientists just seem to push that under the rug. Other supressed reports from the locals in Hessdalen have been actual discs landing not far from theire houses etc. I'm looking foreward to reading the scientific report about this, my guess is that they only talk about the isolated night time light phenomena and don't touch the "disc-UFO" sightings thing at all.

In short, they haven't got a clue.

Sounds like trans-dimensional phenomena to me.

Hi

I am living in Norway and I have seen this phenomena several times, I can’t hardly relate this to UFO (I have never seen UFO in my entire life) but then no amounts of logic could possibly explain this phenomena.

As you said.. (they have no clue)..!

Again, the phenomena are more like a “beacon in the skyᾠ of some sort with very fast/random and inconsistent movements that always reminds me some similarities with the “lighthousesᾠ.

I have been chasing these ghosts for several years and still, they are a big surprise to me when they pops up…!

Cheers..!

I'm sorry, that does not explain flying discs at all. I live in Norway close to Hessdalen and have several times seen strange objects in the sky (not in hessdalen though, but pretty close), and the light that the scientists say they got an explaination for does not explain the disc-shaped "day-time" objects that the locals (and myself) have seen. I agree with Laura, sounds like a trans-dimensional phenomona... (Btw Qbone; how do you define UFOs?).

Btw Qbone; how do you define UFOs?)
Simple, I can’t.

Explain or defining something that I have never seen or witnessed before is very difficult (close to impossible) but that doesn’t mean I am rejecting it, what I know is based on cultural/natural events, mythologies and the other people’s observations and reports.

As an ex army officer (anti aircraft batteries in dark and remote areas) I have a pretty good observations and judgments especially in night time. I have seen some pretty wild things in night skies during my military service but they weren’t kind of crafts/flying disks/light emitting shapes or something even close to it.

Like I said in my previous post, to me, the Hessdalen phenomena is more like a kind of lighthouse beacon emitting lights for some unknown purposes pretty close to meaning of those crop circles phenomena elsewhere in the world.

Cheers..

"A group of scientists from Østfold University College (OUC) is in place in the valley. Lately they have observed luminous phenomena every night.
Hessdalen
One of many luminous phenomena that are seen in the valley. This picture is from April 2013.

- First night, before we had set up the instruments, we saw a stagnant phenomenon just over the hill there, 'says Christer Olofsson.

He's base commander of researchers from OUC, pointing towards a mountain ridge in the south.

Christer Olofsson
Base Manager Christer Olofsson seen phenomenon more consecutive nights in the summer.

The light was like a big ball, completely yellow. Suddenly it was as if something took hold, turned around, and then shift the light through orange and bright red. It lasted four to five seconds before it collapsed into itself and disappeared.

New lysfenomen seen in the valley
Every night
Olofsson tells of many luminous phenomena in the past.

- We have several observations which the light has come upon us. Last night we had an over us which lasted one and a half minutes.

- What kind of impression do you?

- It is wonderful to experience it and to see it as often as we do. I've been up here two trips and set light each night. So it becomes impetuous, I must admit it, says Olofsson.

Website at HiØ about Hessdalen
ridiculed
Integrated People who have talked about what they have seen, experienced being both ridiculed and discredited. Many have therefore chosen not to talk about what they have observed.

Now therefore researchers from HiØ confirm the luminous phenomena in the small village of Sor-Trondelag, not far from Roros.

- We have also seen that it can light up the ground, and we have seen huge balls of light that flies across the sky so people have talked about.

It says Bjorn Gitle Hauge, who is head of research at Østfold University College.

Bjorn Gitle Hauge
Research Bjorn Gitle Hauge believes the explanation of light phenomena exist in the valley.

Hauge think light phenomena caused by some energy storage mechanism that is not mapped yet.

- This is a mineral rich area, and it is possible that the minerals in the ground here acts almost like an electrical circuit, and the light phenomena occur when specific conditions occur. Much like when you fill water in an unused battery.

The phenomenon Hessdalen
geophysics
French and Greek geophysicists is at the moment also in the valley to do surveys. Hauge'm pretty sure that the cooperation with them will bring us closer to an explanation.

- I think we need to look down to find the explanation of light phenomena in Hessdalen. So far there has been too much talk about the starry sky, says chief scientist

He does not believe that light phenomena caused by "something" coming from outside.

- The explanation can be found here in the valley, says Hauge.

Will lure tourists with unique light phenomenon
Do not drop pictures now
It's taken photos of several of lysfenomen in summer, but scientists do not let NRK get publish the pictures.

- There are research reports about who the patent rights. If we will put publish that picture now, we lose all rights to what we have found, says Hauge".
