Not everyone is getting their fluoride. Something must be done!

Thanks for your trouble Psyche, and for both the information and website. This gives me something to reference at the next appointment in a couple weeks :)

Welcome :flowers: Our dentist uses sodium bicarbonate to clean the teeth, works wonderfully. He should do the same ;)

What I find peculiar, is that water fluoridation is not practiced in Austria, China, the Czech Republic, Iceland, India, Italy, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, or Switzerland. What reason could there be for the pressure you fluorise the water in North-America but not in Europe?!?

I don't know either but it's mainly used in toothpastes in Belgium for example.

It is actually used in almost all toothpastes. I assume that's no different in other countries, right?

Here in Switzerland, one is subject to fluoride in most toothpastes. One wonders why as the fluoride used is not the natural stuff found in bedrock water sources, but the by-product from the aluminum industry.

First, fluoride is one of the most toxic substances on earth, on par with arsenic and lead. It has no proven biological use inside the human body (teeth included). There is no minimum daily requirement for fluoride. And second, it is a cumulative poison. Only about half of what we consume is excreted.

The other half collects in the teeth and bones, making them dense, but brittle. Those little white spots visible on the teeth of many children are called dental fluorosis, a condition which not only predisposes them to decay, but also provides a sign that systemic fluoride poisoning is taking place. Dental fluorosis appears to serve as a red flag for future bone fractures as well.

The neurotoxic nature of fluoride is also linked to motor dysfunction, IQ deficits and learning disabilities. In the year 2000, a group of Boston physicians concluded:

"Studies in animals and human populations suggest that fluoride exposure, at levels that are experienced by a significant proportion of the population whose drinking water is fluoridated, may have adverse impacts on the developing brain."

Since 10 years or more, I use a natural herbal toothpaste made in the United Arab Emirates. Two flavors: Imperial Basil and Neem. On the packet in bold print: "No Added Fluoride".

They now have a new flouride delivery method. I had a tooth filled last month at the dentist, and naturally asked for the white, non-mercury containing kind. The dentist was concerned about more decay happening in that spot, so he was proud to offer a composite called, I think, Fuji. It slowly releases flouride constantly in your mouth! I asked him for how long and he said indefinitely! I told him I wasn't comfortable with that and got the old kind of composite. I'm glad he was so proud of it that he told me how it works or I might not have known. Luckily he is the kind of dentist who likes to explain everything.

The Truth About Fluoride Hits Mainstream Television in Australia
