Ole' Escort ! ;D

A sort of Apparition happened to me last night - somehow stumbled on my Ole' Escort from 20+ years ago on net - lots of photos and video of it - in amazing condition with only 50k km passed. For me it represents an ALLTIMER (not an old-timer in any possible way -hehe hehe). A vehicle so simple, practical, reliable, fun to drive; a masterpiece of auto engineering - MADE IN GERMANY. Only electronics it had was a digital clock above driver's rearview mirror . Model also called A SALOON. And it came to me by some kind of serendipitous chain of events, in those times after war overhere - never meant to buy anything similar...

Almost like finding some, long time ago, lost part of me - such an intensive flashback - so emotionally charged that i simultaneously laughed and dropped few tears of joy and grief - seeing that auto again. DAS TOLLE AUTO - eeeh

If it is for sale - might want to consider making arrangements to purchase it? They don't make durable cars like that any more.

They don’t make cars like they used to. Nowadays for most modern cars, you need an auto electrician not just a mechanic to fix things.

My first car was an Escort, also. Had a huge rust (corrosion) issues but I had it all fixed. Sold it to a friend and he had practically zero problems with it. Good memories...

Further to your extraordinarily timed 'Apparition', out of curiosity could you advise whether your Escort would have been manufactured in the Saarlouis plant please?

Yes quite possibly, although if i remember correctly some parts of plastic interior that i've been demounting/mounting had have some inscriptions in Spanish - so i guess it was not a Whole German product but wit some Spanish/Mediterranean flare to it... OLE!
