Thanks for this link! Not only was it a 'Lighten Up!' read for me, but it reminded me that I've been a little distant with SOTT lately. I also really liked the heading 'One person can make a difference'. Got my attention and I thought it was a nice touch to the story. Not to mention it's true! I wonder what 50 of this guy could do!

I really enjoyed this article! 
This man was telling the truth, and directly pointing it out to the protestors. He was encouraging these protestors to think about their "cause" and their own origins. I don't know if those people went home and thought about his statements, but it's definitely a step to further their understanding if they did.
I find it almost comical (although the blind hatred displayed is disgusting) that the protestors have forgotten their own immigration origins, and the horrors this country experienced in it's "founding". I live in the U.S. and hear these anti-immigration statements from people of all different backgrounds from time to time. It's sad to me that their anger or hatred is so misdirected at a group of people they (or their parents, grandparents, etc.) were once a part of. I think it also does not help that in education the true facts of the US founding and growth are glossed over, misinformed, or outright lies. The true history has to be sought out, but not everyone will do this, and they don't have to (freewill and all).
I hope this man can inspire others to counter argue this anti-immigration point, or at the very least reveal the real history of the situation and the biases that have developed over time.
The "show me your papers" provision reminds me of Nazi Germany. History repeats itself.
