Online Survey Center

I was visiting Sott.net today and got a window with a message from Online Survey Center attempting to get me to complete a survey that offers some sort of free* items in exchange. Of course they probably want your credit card number first. I am pretty sure this is a scam and it even says on the bottom that they are not affiliated with sott.net in any way. I'm not sure if this is something specific to my computer (virus/spyware) or if they've actually managed to insert this into sott.net somehow.

Anywho, thought I'd point this out so if there is a way to fix it, it can be implemented. I did a google search on this OSC Online Survey Center, and out of the few results I got back it seems that it happens to people while visiting a couple forums as well. My best guess is that it's something that's on my computer specifically, but I'm still posting this as a warning - if anybody else comes across the same thing, notice that it is not part of sott.net so don't be fooled.


Edit: Just noticed it says "The trial products offered on the last page pay this website for orderes placed." It is unclear if it is referring to it's own website or sott.net. If it's referring to sott.net maybe you'll be getting a check in the mail! (yeah right)

I just visited SOTT.net and I did not get that survey form. Perhaps it's something in your computer. If you do a search for "Online Survey Center" popup, you will see a whole lot of other people having the same problem. One website suggests that it is some sort of Malware. Hope this helps. :)
