Order of events question

I watched the movie The Road the other night, based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy. I found it to be quite disturbing, and it has popped a question into my head.

I know that the C's have said that we will experience world disorder, followed by the cataclysm, followed by the wave - in that order. And I also know they have said that those who advance to 4D upon the arrival of the wave will not experience the difficult 3D situation. But because of the situation presented in the movie, one which seems very logical to me, I am wondering if the C's have ever made any comments on the subject of how long after the cataclysm will the wave arrive.

I ask because it would seem that if my family were to be so "lucky" as to survive the cataclysm, and the wave didn't arrive for at least a few years, it might be a good idea to be able to protect my family from certain dangers. I won't go into any detail because I don't want to spoil the movie.

I have pretty much accepted that what will happen will happen, and that's that. But if anyone is familiar with this story they should understand why I ask.

Does anyone remember reading anything like that?

To my knowledge, they've never given that kind of info because the future is open. It seems that, as we get 'nearer' - for lack of a better word - the number of possibilities or variables decreases and more definite answers can be given; thus the comment in a more recent session of "5 years", which at the time gave a ballpark year of 2014.

But again, the Wave could come tomorrow, it's just less probable.

As for the sequence of events, and that those who advance to 4th won't experience the cataclysms, the C's response to that idea was, "you must decide if it's true". Since then, the C's have also said to the group that the test of living through the difficult times will be a valuable learning experience. There is also the theory that some will graduate first and enable others to 'piggyback' there after, maybe like making a bridge.

I'd also say that the FOTCM/EE have opened up new realms of possibilities regarding the whole matter.

My two pence.

I'm with T.C. Laura made it a point in the Wave to explain how the C's make their predictions. Essentially you have to consider the entire context, in every frame of reference. Like taking a 'snapshot' of things in their current state so that you can measure and calculate.

Then after the prediction, you have to consider the butterfly effect - how a small change in one place can set off some action somewhere else due to a rebalancing of energies throughout the whole system. The system, of course, also includes the whole Universe that we're interconnected with.

My 2 cents. :)

Yes, I guess you're both right about that. I do understand the concept of the probability factor, but I think I was applying it only to the pre-cataclysm period, thinking that after that, the worst part would be past and the wave would be upon us. I've always considered the "difficult times" more in the context of what will be happening on earth before and during the cataclysm, and not so much after. That would probably explain why the movie gave me a bit of a jolt. But it's the same jolt I got when I learned about the cataclysm in the first place, and you've helped me clue in to the fact that it's all part and parcel of the same difficult time.

As far as what survivors may have to face... holy learning experience! I would never do this, but that movie got me pondering the idea of buying a gun for the first time in my life. And the idea of owning one is something that scares me as much as having one pointed at me. Just another emotional reaction I have to learn from, I guess.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Mocachapeau,

Hey I know how you feel, this kind of movie tends to get stuck in your head with the worst possible outcome if something like that happened.

Here in 3D it makes us really scared to be hurt, suffer and do the same to others but if we're not open to some other possible outcome, then maybe we start to close all the open roads to something different and most probably better.
I think it has to do with faith and I know how hard it is to keep it when there is so much madness going on right now.

I hope it's not self-calming but I think often that I am just borrowing a 3D shape for the moment and that's a great gift so I try to make it count, even if it seems insignificant and the POTS helps as well ;)
