Ostrov - a movie about the way of monk

This is a short introduction form IMDB:

Somewhere in Northern Russia in a small Russian Orthodox monastery lives an unusual man whose bizarre conduct confuses his fellow monks, while others who visit the island believe that the man has the power to heal, exorcise demons and foretell the future.

The story is interesting(the web of events is nicely made), but it can be a little bit boring because of the long shots. It also has some dry humor in it; as an overall i think it is a proper description of the way of monk.
I liked a lot the way the directors put in scene/story the ability of the "unusual man" to foresee events; i think they made a connection between reality and its symbols, and how this person saw them and acted.

The movie is translated in English "The Island".

Thank you edgitarra for bringing up this movie. It was very moving and humbling for me especially in light of the Work we do here for ourselves.
