Definitely creepy, and definitely a spellbinder. Robot doll 'bout sums it up though

"Promoting hatred against any identifiable group would not only be considered inappropriate, but could in fact lead to criminal charges," he warned her in the letter, which Coulter quickly leaked to the media.

Wow, I like the phrase "it's not even wrong".

She sure had it coming. I expect that this sort of thing is going to happen more and more in the near future. It could even start to get ugly.

I was thinking the same thing - that woman is vile. Great to see those students standing up and saying 'enough'!

My opinion is that Ann Coulter is sick person, like she has no feeling or empathy to others, she just provocate and that is it.She showed no external considering for people, she provocate to that level when people get upset and by doing this she doesnt realize that this can go in wrong direction.

There is the video from University of Ottawa where she get speech Cancelled
There she said to one muslim girl "take a camel"

To be quite frank, I don't see much difference in the students blocking her hate speech and our moderators not allowing trolls to flame the forum. There is a difference between speaking one's mind and hate-speech and I'm glad the students/protesters could see that.

This reminds me of some predictions from last ALTA (half past human) reports.

There could be many other interpretations, but the general feel of the detail layers seems to be forming up under the idea that the TPTB, especially as expressed by their political minions, are [afraid] of a [rapid] and [wide spread awakening within the populace]. There are many sub sets in support of the [awakening] set including [spiritual], [economic], [military], and [science] and others, but all are in their turn pointing back to the TPTB view that any form of [awakening] is a [danger] to them.

In many of the details for these linguistic structures, the [TPTB] and their [political minions] and [press propagandists], are indicated to be [sent fleeing] the [public anger].

[quote author=The Shape of Things to Come issue 4 ]
The data sets indicate that in Spring, at least [2/two incidents] of [panic sweats] by [politicians] will be [caught on video] and be [alternative media fodder] for weeks. The [panic sweats] will be [most embarrassing] for the [female minion (politician)] and [her staff] due to the [change (in) speech] that is [prompted].

My opinion is that she is just a drone.

I agree with you. However, I stumbled across another side to it:

Ann Coulter just recently got a chilling reminder that the "thought police" are alive and well, not in one of the few communist countries on earth but in Canada, where she is going on a speaking tour of three universities.

In a chilling note, Francois Houle, s senior official at the University of Ottawa reminded Ms. Coulter in unmistakeable terms that she could not count on the free speech protections that are sacrosanct in the US. The National Post reports as follows on the icy missive received by Ms. Coulter.

I read the above and couldn't help but feel sick.

Para-moralism somehow cunningly evades the control of our common sense, sometimes leading to an affirmation of behavior whose character is openly pathological.

That feels better :)

I really like the way she twists the university's email to her that reminded her our Canadian human rights laws trump free speech into the university trying to threaten her away from attending and intentionally encouraging protesters to increase their efforts.

I really don't know how she or her pundits got that from a simple reminder of our hate speech laws, which, if applied against many of the things she has said of late, would have landed her in court.

I am feeling a momentum building in their seven mountains strategy. Especially in light of the Texas school board 100 plus amendments and revisions to the social history curriculum and textbooks.

It occurs to me that the only way to offset the religious right's gains in infiltrating and steering business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, the family and religion to their will is by replicating the same approach.

However, it would take and equally organized and motivated mass of people, similarly aligned, to be able to succeed at the same level as they and I don't know if it is currently possible to get that many people interested enough to invest a commensurate amount of energy.

I am a little heartened by this protest in my city though. We used to have to wake people up, brush their teeth, dress them and bus them to the protest to make sure they's show up back in the day of protesting the US cruise missile testing over Canada. Maybe things are looking up.

This event reminds me a protest in Mersin, Turkey where students threw eggs to Tevfik Bilgin, chair of Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency in Turkey. I personally didn't find it positive like Ann Coulter event since it contained violence. It is reported that students interrupted his speech after 10 minutes, telling to him: "We listened to you for 10 minutes, can we tell you our situation for one minute?" And they told him how they don't have money to eat something decent or don't have money to take a bus. Then when security officers tried to take them away, they threw the eggs. Here is a video, though I couldn't find anything in English:

Just my two cents, fwiw.

Exactly - suggesting that criticism of hate speech is repression of free speech is paramoralistic, and the opposite paramoralism is used when legitimate criticism is described as hate speech. To the pathocrats it just depends on whether you are criticizing Israel or a designated Muslim enemy.
