No bread, pasta or sugar: Stone Age-style restaurant serves only food that was available to our caveman ancestors

[...]

Proudly announcing a 'Real Food Revolution - Paleolithic cuisine!', there is no cheese, bread or sugar available, only fare accessible to our hunter-gatherer ancestors more than two million years ago.

I dunno. I like my steak rare, but cooked a little.

yeah not much mention of fat actually, wonder if the resautrant owner has been taken in by the 'evil' nature of saturated fats.

This line from the article was interesting
"Consumer vote: Despite the fact that the Caveman diet ranked least effective in a list of weight-loss plans compiled by nutritionists, thousands of people responded to say that for them, it delivered the best results".

So there definitely is some awareness about the benefits of paleo diet, despite all the negative propaganda on the same. It seems to be a growing minority. I think the next step for FOTCM after all pressing issues are sorted out is to open a restaurant ;)

In fact, I was thinking of the just the same thing - opening a restaurant that serves truly healthy food. Would be a far cry from my 9-6 job and i would be eating all the meat in the world for free :D

Daydreams, daydreams.

I agree with Pete "where's the fat?!"
The dish in the photo seems to have too many carbs and where's the meat.

Restaurant idea sounds neat.
Maybe pot lucks or one family/person does a meal a day and we all share.

Thanks Al! Well, it's a start anyway...people need a gradual intro into going totally fatty meat, don't you think? Fwiw, it's a great idea that I have wondered about too.
Just serve certain teas, maybe a garnish of green beans or coleslae.
A lunchtime, 'Paleo Cafe' with plenty of fatty good meats from a local butcher, that kind of thing.

I think that's nice enough for the start :) Funny, I had the idea of opening my own restaurant as well, maybe we could really start up a business somewhere ;-)

Hi Everyone. I went Paleo 2.5 months or so ago. Lost 13 kg and have energy for the first time in 12 years. I think I was suffering leaky gut or something and the diet cleared it up. All thanks to Sott and the forum - and using my mind to recognise a good thing when I saw it. :cool2: On that note I will now roll a cig. :)

Great news, Rick3! Thanks for sharing your experience.

:) thanks for the link Al, that's great idea, how ever, probably they are going with the hip and not because they know about the paleo diet is healthy. On the dish is really less than on any vegetarian dish, hehe.

Great news Rick3   after starting with gluten free a year ago, I lost 15 Kg. Now after 3 months on paleo diet I lost another 5 Kg and feel better than ever.

I had a restaurant in Germany with Italian and Japanese kitchen. It was nothing special at that time. I think the idea is good, but it must be a real paleo diet, with good understandable background. Dot Conector Mag on the Table and so on. :D

My momma taught me that to make friends, feed them. May be an excellent way to make new "friends" by feeding them.?.?.?

The idea has also crossed my mind a couple times to open a restaurant called Paleo. Ideally it would only serve locally raised free range meats and veggies.

The idea for a paleo restaurant also crossed my mind around a week or so ago.
Not so much to start a restaurant myself but rather that it would immensely help me get the ball rolling on going paleo or make it easier to get "paleo to go" if I find that I don't have the time to whip up a paleo dish at home.

I also miss the fat when eating out. But then again I think most meat suppliers trim the fat for restaurants so you'd be hard pressed to find cuts with lots of fat unless the restaurant has a special arrangement with a butcher.

Excellent idea Al! I think I would be hard pressed to find someone who didn't want to go to a BBQ with steaks sizzling on the grill...
