I saw this episode today and found this to be informative and Sonnenfedt was the
chief interpreter for the US Army at the Nurenburg Trials. What I found interesting
was Sonnenfeldt is jewish(by his own admission), fled Germany(with brother), his
father was in a concentration camp for 5 days then later pulled out because
Goering(or another high ranking official?) noted in the jewish-extermination-list
his father had received the iron-cross in WW1, and ordered him released. (Hard to
believe, if true), and Sonnenfedt was a refuge in England and was branded an
alien-enemy, was transported out to Australia which he boat was torpedoed by a
UBoat but still arrived to Australia , and due to some error noted by the British
govt. changed the deportation order to have him sent back to England, only
to drop him off at Bombay, India, ... this whole dialog was very strange to me.

To make a long story short, he ended up as an interpreter for the US Army,
he reflected a lot on German Nazi history, talked with the accused (Goering,
Spier, Hess, ...) both on and off the record and reflected interesting conversations
with them as to their psyche. He says he was there in Dachau, seeing dead bodies
piled high, etc., etc. provided a lot of information 15 minutes? into the episode.

He talks about how Hitler drove the German machine, how he manipulated
others to acquire power, how everyone underneath him were mostly weak
intellectually but the most interesting statement I heard him say was: "... they
were all yes-men. They took orders and carried it out." I watched this segment
totally enraptured, and also reflected in my mind as to the actions of BUSH and
his "yes-men" and it gave me the chills.

If you hadn't seen this episode, it might be interesting for those of you
who like an additional read in support of what Laura already provided
elsewhere about the German Nazi movement to purge intellectuals
who opposed him and eventual take over of the country and to WWII.

As to what I think of Richard Sonnenfeldt, I am not really sure but I sense
what he said about Hitler, reflects on current state of affairs, talks about Iran,
North Korea briefly saying that these leaders must be taken care of otherwise
might result in another Hitler (summarizing in my words) and I get the feeling
that he is not seeing Bush as the real danger but Iran mostly and pointed out
"they do no believe in the holocaust..."

I am not certain that this guy has an ulterior motive or part of the disinfo gang.

Absolutely stunning episode!
