Plane crash in Elko in Nevada causes large fire

A small plane has crashed in a residential area in the city of Elko in Nevada, causing a large explosion and subsequent fire, officials and witnesses say. Only few details were immediately available.
The accident happened just before 7:30 p.m. PT on Friday when an unidentified aircraft crashed at a parking lot near the Gold Dust West casino in Elko, causing a large explosion. A large fire erupted at the scene.
It was not immediately known how many people were on board the aircraft or whether anyone survived, but photos and video from the scene showed a large fire that had engulfed several vehicles that were parked there.
The crash site is close to the Elko Regional Airport-Eko, but it was not immediately known whether the aircraft was taking off or landing when it went down.
"There was an aircraft accident Friday evening near Elko, Nevada. The aircraft type, registration, and number of people onboard is not currently known," said Allen Kenitzer, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
