OMG, people are so much stupider than I thought! And what's even scarier, is she still didn't "get it", even after being told the deer crossing sign was a warning to drivers, not a sign telling deer where to cross the road.

She did finally "get it." If you read the description accompanying the video, there is a link to a follow-up conversation:

This is more scary than funny. Whether this is a product of poor nutrition, (GMO's, gluten HFCS, etc.), our educational system, ponerization, fluoridation and toxins in the environment, too much wifi/cell phone use, or all of the above and more, it is indeed a telling and instructive sign of the times.
I laughed too, but then I felt ashamed of myself. I feel badly for her. She seems like a really good sport, and it's sad that some people are doing and saying mean things to and about her. When she mentioned it she didn't sound angry or vindictive. She just sounds a little puzzled.
I think that it's cruel for the radio station to keep this going by exploiting her excitement about receiving the free tee shirt which is ridiculing her.
I just hate the meanness that I see in my country, and I'm appalled to find it in myself.

The connection; You feel badly(or sorry?) for someone You don't know, someone that made a fool out of themselves because of their lack of understanding of a most elementary thing. There are people just as talkative as this lady with even less understanding doing politics.
IMO, the lady shows severe disconnect from reality.
It was a lame and too complicated a joke, I admit that.

I do feel sorry for her, and I don't think she made a fool of herself. I think the radio station made a fool of her. It was a cheap shot and good for ratings and totally self-serving on the part of the DJs who were leading her on. They could have simply pointed out to her the fallacy in her understanding, but of course it's not in their interest to do that.
If I had had that conversation with her, I might have teased her a little while pointing out the fallacy in her reasoning. I think deliberate ridicule directed at someone who is not aware of the fact that they are being humiliated is just plain wrong.
The inability to think clearly that this woman demonstrated may have been caused by low thyroid function.
Hypothyroid condition causes brain fog which impairs reasoning. I think a lot of people have this condition to a greater or lesser extent just because of the high toxicity and stress levels in the world in which we live. That may be part of the reason why so many people in these times seem to exhibit faulty reasoning.
Here's a link that provides some information about brain fog:
I agree with webglider. While it may be appalling that she didn't make the basic connection, it's also appalling how she was treated by the radio and the public.
