Problems with smilies, quotes, all icons in fact.

Hiya, I've got a problem at the moment because none of the icons are useable on my reply page at the moment, and was the same yesterday. As a result, I cannot bold, italicize, insert quote, smilie, any of them.

Has anyone experienced this before, and if so, what can I do to fix it?

Whenever I do try to use one of the icons, error on page flashes in the bottom left corner.

Me too when I'm at work, I'm unable to even highlight. Haven't posted from home recently so it's not clear if related.

I'm typing the codes manually for bold, italics, and quotes.

Well I don't see the problem from my end. So perhaps it's a problem at your end. Try clearing your browser's cache and see if that solves the issue. It could be related to the recent upgrade of SMF here but I went to the SMF forum and had a look if others are reporting the same issue and I haven't found any yet. :/

I do have the same problem if I am using IE7. And that problem happenned just after the upgrade.

No problem with firefox.

Agreed, when using computer with IE7 there is the problem, when using computer with mozilla there is not a problem.

I cleared the cache (IE7) as Vulcan59 suggested and everything's OK now.

Just done the same thing and everything is ok as far as it can be ok with IE7.

Make sure to clear cookies and browsing history with the Tools Menu on your browser.

1) Make sure that Javascript is enabled at least for this forum.
2) Some browsers are incompatible with some bulletin board's WYSIWYG editors. IE is bad anyway, but there are some issues with Opera as well.

There is no browser-independet way to do this. Generally, every browser should provide this feature. However, I guess that it is not the cache nor SMF which causes these problems. It's the browser and its Javascript capabilities, and additionally, bad / wrong configured / useless plugins.

I don't even know what it is.
