Propoganda alert: Syrian Blogger Amina Arraf doesn't exist

In light of all the recent headline inches dedicated to demonising and spreading propaganda about the orchestrated violence being created in Syria by Western/Israeli backed militant groups, and Joe's recent blog post about the CIA hand in the Syrian uprising, I thought the following article was noteworthy. It would seem that recent “poster child” of this revolution and her story of woe, which western media has been so happy to promote, doesn’t actually exist.

The reported kidnap of a U.S. lesbian blogger in Syria has come into question after a woman in Britain claimed that photos being used to call for her release are actually her.

Thousands of campaigners joined protest groups after media outlets across the world reported that Amina Arraf, a blogger known for her frank posts about her sexuality and her open criticism of President Bashar Assad had been detained.

But a woman in London came forward today claiming the photos being circulated were actually her, raising questions about the existence of the blogger.

Jelena Lecic found out that pictures of her were being used by the blogger when she saw her photo used next to an article in a British newspaper.

It’s also interesting to note that this Syrian-American girl is said to have been native to Virginia in the US (thought no records of her or her parents or birth seem to exist to corroborate this), which reminded me of Langley in Virginia and the now infamous CIA hub there. I’ve been trying to look into the location of the IP address and website owners of the blog, as I have heard that this is an address outside Syria, but I haven’t been able to log onto the Whois website to verify this, as it’s not loading up at present.

Very interesting. It's par for the course, as explained in the SOTT commentary on this story:

No surprises here that the blogger has turned out to be a 40yr old American man, studying at a University in Edinburgh. I wonder if all mainstream press outlets and newspapers who were so quick to promote and use the false psyops info planted for them will issue retractions that are equally as headline grabbig or vocal, and make it known that they were promoting lies without fully investigating or corroborating the validity and identity of the bloggers story?

The true identity of internationally renowned blogger 'A Gay Girl in Damascus' has been revealed as a 40-year-old American man.

Tom MacMaster, a student at the University of Edinburgh, wrote an apology on the blog today, confessing that the entire thing was a hoax.

If it was on CNN and BBC it MUST be the truth! :P

I don't think that western mainstream press were so quick to promote the false psyops info, but I think that they ARE the false psyops etc . . .
