I have favored the idea of enlightened despotism in city-states as a cross form that would be adaptable to current world complexity. Of course there are a ton of obstacles in the way of that happening and functioning but one can dream. Naturally the word 'despot' has been tainted by the brush of time and its degenarative process, but that applies to the ones that cannot remember historical narratives where there 'actually existed' a political class working for their people. Shortly after this phenomenon came into existence the horns of democracy were blown. and it's concept eternally devalued, then sold as the perfect solution.

Certainly but just not yet. There are too many loose ends, Saudis are just one example, Israel being left out of discussions on Turkish stream, Russia not bending the knee yet, protests in an awakening Europe, revelations of who is responsible for all the botched terror attacks, loss of uranium from nuclear power plant in Ukraine for their dirty bomb, Elon Musks satellite failures and more I've lost count of. Day by day they are loosing face and tantrums are increasing. Their knowledge that Russia is amassing information and proof of murders, war crimes and bio-labs etc just keeps mounting and keeping their asian friends informed of all this will be galling in the extreme.
They have never faced this type of resistance before.
