Putin Recognizes Donbass Republics, Sends Russian Military to 'Denazify' Ukraine

I have watched a number of commentaries on the summit meeting including one with John Helmer and another with Pepe Escobar.
Interestingly both suspect a goal of the meeting or result for Trump was about allowing the USA to publicly push the responsibility for the war onto Europe. This is following from the pressure to get Europe to fund the bill for any future weapons deliveries to Ukraine. Ultimately this will likely involve continued US involvement with satellite and targeting assistance, but Europe would oversee responsibility for the transfer of weapons and take the blame for defeat or continued attempts to strike Russia.
Though there may be indications Russia might be willing to play along, I cannot really say why other than perhaps hoping to keep on reasonable terms with the Trump administration. Maybe Russia’s battlefield advantage now has grown so strong, and they feel victory is inevitable so there is little consequence and in fact something to be gained by giving Trump an opening to save face in Ukraine.

Perhaps with enough luck Trump might be able to pass the buck to Europe for American audiences, but I struggle to see European Powers buying into this. They have already been squirming at the prospect of funding the Ukraine war out of their own pocket, and economically are not in a state to do so. I do not see Trump being able to disengage from the conflict even if only in a performative manner without inviting blame from Europe in the event of a defeat. They seem thoroughly deluded and I am starting to suspect they actually believe that Lindsey Graham’s sanctions package (against Russia and more importantly its many trading partners) will finish off the Russian economy and don’t even perceive the risk to the American market and what’s left of their own.

The summit seems at least a good start for improving Russia and American relations and dialogue. With the bonus of panicking the European warmongers for the time being.

In this interview Sergei Lavrov explains the situation. The AI translation and upload from Hindustan Times is decent:
Following the Alaska summit, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that Trump and his team are now pursuing a much deeper approach to resolving the Ukraine crisis. Lavrov also highlighted ongoing tensions over NATO, emphasizing that the alliance has broken its promise not to expand eastward, citing five separate rounds of NATO enlargement since the original assurances were given. As talk grows of a potential high-stakes Putin-Zelensky summit, Lavrov stressed that any future agreements must address Russia’s security concerns and the rights of Russian-speaking Ukrainians.
It was interesting to hear how Lavrov laid it out.

Iskander Over Ukraine Pushes Zelensky To Peace In Washington
#EU#FROMTHEFRONT 19.08.2025 Video

A statement from the White House has indicated that no US military personnel will be on the ground in Ukraine.

Fact 2: Ukraine attacks this pipeline, and because of these Ukrainian strikes, oil supplies to Hungary are repeatedly cut off. This is against Hungary’s interest.

As Hungary’s Foreign Minister, my mandate is clear: Hungary’s interest comes first. Period.

And let’s not forget: a significant part of Ukraine’s electricity comes from Hungary…

LUGANSK, August 20. /TASS/. The Armed Forces of Ukraine by the end of August intend to strike a series of strikes on social facilities and high-rise buildings of Kramatorsk of the Donetsk People’s Republic for the subsequent accusation of the Russian army. As reported by TASS military expert Andrei Marochko, allegedly the strikes of the forces of the Russian Federation on the civilian infrastructure of Kramatorsk Kiev intends to illuminate in the Ukrainian and Western media, their employees have already arrived in the city.

“From the agent source received information that the administration of Zelensky in the conditions of an information background about a possible settlement of the Ukrainian conflict after the talks of Russian President Vladimir Putin with his American counterpart Donald Trump is planning an armed provocation in the city of Kramatorsk in the DPR for the subsequent discrediting of the leadership of the Russian Federation. So, servicemen of the AFU (armed formations of Ukraine - approx. TASS) until the end of August intend to carry out shelling of social facilities and multi-storey residential buildings located on the southeastern outskirts of the city. A fire strike can be carried out using a Soviet-style MLRS from the airfield under the control of Ukrainian troops,” he said, citing its own sources.

Marochko said that the photo and video materials from the places of the so-called strikes of the forces of the Russian Federation in Kramatorsk Kiev intends to place in Ukrainian and foreign media, including in social networks and Telegram channels, to present them "as the fact of aggression of the military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as violation of the norms of international law." According to him, on August 18, a group of foreign journalists has already arrived in Kramatorsk - they were spotted in the area of the railway station. “The planned provocation in Kramatorsk is aimed at exerting psychological pressure on the population of the city, forming a negative attitude to the Russian military command and undermining Moscow’s authority in the international arena,” the military expert stressed.

During the operational combat operations, three saboteurs were eliminated and three were detained.
MOSCOW, August 20th. /tass/. The FSB of Russia showed a video recording of the detention in the Bryansk region of members of the Ukrainian sabotage and intelligence group (DRG), which consisted of personnel from the special operations service.

In the video, three detainees gave their names: Roman Davydyuk, Alexander Godko, Alexander Zhuk.

According to the FSB's Public Relations Center, the activities of the DRG in the region were suppressed, which consisted of personnel from the Special Operations Service, supervised by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which planned to commit terrorist acts and sabotage on transport infrastructure facilities in the territory of the Russian Federation. During the operational combat operations, three saboteurs were eliminated and three were detained. According to the FSB, the training and control of the DRG was carried out with the participation of Western intelligence officers in Ukraine, as well as in Estonia, Lithuania and Norway. The detainees confess to the involvement of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the bombings of the railway track in the Novooskolsky district of the Belgorod region in September 2024 and preparations for other terrorist attacks in Russia.

Another unofficial data on Ukrainian losses. The numbers are shocking. I have mixed feelings when I see these numbers. On the one hand, the higher these numbers are, the less likely it is that my son will fall into this meat grinder, on the other hand, "Ukrainians and Russians are one people" ("C"Putin) and these are not empty words. On the third hand, the more these numbers grow, the more Russia's losses grow (which will not be announced to us in this life). Let the Russian losses be lower relative to the Ukrainian ones (I hope so), but they cannot decrease while the fighting is going on.
Russian hackers have revealed the true scale of the losses of the Armed Forces personnel

Hackers from Russia have gained access to information about Ukraine's actual losses in manpower since the beginning of the special operation. The hackers claim that we are talking about the base of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Thus, according to the data obtained, Ukraine lost 1,721,000 people killed and missing in total over the years of its military operation. In 2022, the Kiev regime lost 118.5 thousand soldiers, in 2023 - 405.4 thousand people, in 2024 – 595 thousand militants and in 2025 - 621,000 troops. The documents are accompanied by the full names of the victims, as well as information about the place and circumstances of death or disappearance and contacts of relatives.

If the data obtained is true, we can talk about the loss of about seven armies of Ukraine. This information also shows that the Kiev regime is trying to make up for the losses by increasing mobilization.

It is important to note that the information received indicates an increase in losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which increased sixfold over the course of three years. There is a depletion of the personnel reserve of enemy troops and Kiev's desire to adopt new draconian laws designed to replace those who died on the battlefield with untrained mobilized.

Along with this, data on the irretrievable losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of 1.7 million people indicate that the total losses of Ukraine since 2022, including deserters, wounded and missing, reach 8-8.5 million people.

A really good interview (37 min) by Diana Panchenko (the one who made the famous interview with Lukashenko in the past) with Pavel Shchelin. Different perspective, several points that I didn't hear from others. It's in Russian, so I'm including a short AI summary. The symbolism of the meeting in Alaska: what Putin and Trump actually discussed. Pavel Shchelin. Broadcast with D. Panchenko

The meeting of the leaders of Russia and the United States in Alaska became not just a diplomatic event, but a symbol of a possible reformatting of world politics. In this video – a detailed analysis of the hidden meanings of the negotiations:

🔹Why won't there be a final document, but that doesn't mean failure?
🔹 Separate world or a game of "good cop and bad cop"?
🔹What can Trump offer Putin and what will Russia never agree to?
🔹Why is Ukraine– not the main player in these negotiations?
🔹 Truce scenarios: Paris 1973 or a new Cold War?
🔹What awaits Zelensky and why is his fate decided without him?

AI summary:

The video discusses the Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska, analyzing the goals and expectations of both sides. Expert Pavel Shchelin emphasizes that the meeting is not aimed at immediate peace, but rather is an attempt by Russia to offer the USA a separate peace and test the possibilities of interaction. The positions of Russia, various American elite groups (neocons, Trump supporters), and their interests are discussed. Special attention is paid to the absence of a final document, which is an important signal. The video also considers a possible truce, its conditions, and historical parallels with the Paris Agreements. It touches upon the issues of Western influence on Ukraine and the independence of the Ukrainian people in decision-making, as well as the future of Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In conclusion, symbolic gestures and possible agreements on the Arctic are analyzed.

That's Shchelin's journalistic face. On the same topic and partly overlapping, but more nuanced, with a wider perspective, is another interview, this time by political scientist Ruslan Safarov. Also in Russian but AI-made English audio is available (actually, plays by default for me). 57 min.

Another Russian record for the number of "goodies". We are slowly approaching the "magic" figure of 1,000 units per day.
Russia launched a record 574 kamikaze drones in Ukraine
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported on August 21, 2025, that on Thursday night, the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces) conducted a massive attack, launching 574 unmanned aerial vehicles and 40 missiles of various types, including Daggers and Kalibras. This is stated in the official statement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, transmitted through the press service.

According to the Ukrainian side, the air defense forces allegedly managed to destroy or suppress 577 aerial targets: 546 Shahed UAVs and imitation drones, 1 X-47M2 Dagger aeroballistic missile, 18 X-101 cruise missiles and 12 Kalibr cruise missiles. Despite the "successes" in the interception, the Ukrainian Armed Forces recorded missile and drone strikes at 11 locations across the country, and the fall of downed objects was noted in three additional territories.

The attack affected critical infrastructure, including military and energy facilities.

One of the hit targets.
An American plant of drone manufacturing has been destroyed in Ukraine
Military analyst Yuriy Podolyaka reported on the consequences of attacks on the facilities of the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Ukraine, publishing data on the destruction of the Flex electronics plant in Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region.

According to Podolyaki, at least one X-101 cruise missile hit the plant, and an analysis of images from space transferred to a regular map indicates the use of two missiles — the second missed slightly, but the first hit the target. Based on information from the scene, the analyst claims that the plant has almost completely burned out, including the warehouses of finished products.

"This plant produced many things, including stuffing for drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Its destruction will not immediately, but it will significantly affect the production of Ukrainian mini-factories for the production of drones," he said.

Local authorities previously reported a large-scale fire on an area of 7,000 square meters in Mukachevo, which confirms the data from Podolyaka.

It's just a fact. I won't write anything, evaluate it for yourself.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrsky asked Russia to save his father
On August 21, 2025, TVC presenter Anna Prokhorova reported on her Telegram channel that Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Syrsky wrote a personal letter to Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko asking him to save his 86-year-old father Stanislav Syrsky, who is in serious condition in intensive care in Russia.

According to Prokhorova, Stanislav Syrsky was diagnosed with a brain disease that worsened after suffering from coronavirus, and doctors initially gave an unfavorable prognosis. The letter, described as "very personal" and handwritten, was transmitted through closed diplomatic channels. After that, Russian doctors, including the best neurosurgeons and virologists, joined the treatment, and the patient's condition was stabilized. Syrsky has paid for all medical services, and in the coming days his father will return home to the Vladimir region.

Prokhorova noted that, according to her information, Syrsky did not communicate with his father or mother, who was next to him.

"Either they don't know, it's not that difficult to talk on the phone without witnesses, or the differences are too great to decide on a personal conversation. But as a son, Syrsky did everything he could. I was surprised," the TV presenter summed up.

She emphasized the humane gesture of the Ukrainian commander-in-chief in difficult circumstances.

At the same time, experts draw attention to the fact that Stanislav Syrsky is a Russian citizen, he needed to receive medical care free of charge.

The X account @RWApodcast (Russians With Attitude) seems to be pointing to a increasing adversarial relationship between Russia and Azerbaijan. He cites the declaration of a United Russia member and popular media personality being declared a foreign agent for his praise of Azerbaijani President Aliyev in Baku. He sees this as evidence the Kremlin is cleaning house on the Azeri lobby. He also cites the attack on Urkaine-Azeri joint refineries in Ukraine as well.

Since Azerbaijan is an ally of Turkey and Israel, I have to wonder if this is a prelude to some of Russia's future strategic maneuvers in West Asia, once Ukraine gets wrapped up this year according to the C's?

Since Azerbaijan is an ally of Turkey and Israel, I have to wonder if this is a prelude to some of Russia's future strategic maneuvers in West Asia, once Ukraine gets wrapped up this year according to the C's?
Seems everything is right. Both the fact that Markov was a fairly prominent figure in the Russian media space (now, I think, it will become quieter, in accordance with the newly acquired status of a foreign agent), and the fact that recently there has been quite serious pressure on formal and informal Azerbaijani organizations operating in Russia. But I would have asked the above question in a slightly different way.

For example, like this.

Since the Anglo-Saxon influence is becoming more and more noticeable in Azerbaijani politics (almost all "Azerbaijani oil" is controlled through British offshore companies, do we recall where the agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia was recently signed and where Aliyev, Pashinyan and Trump warmly shook hands? The answer is the glorious city of Washington.), will Azerbaijan turn out to be the next "kamikaze ram" after Georgia and Ukraine in the West's attempts to break up Russia?

If we put the question in this way, then Azerbaijan's anti-Russian efforts will certainly provoke some retaliatory actions from Russia.

By the way, about the fact that Aliyev "won the war." In Azerbaijan, they are shouting with all their might that they took revenge on Armenia for the defeat in the 90s, but the trick is that thanks to Pashinyan, Armenia practically did not participate in the last "war" and if Azerbaijan won against anyone, it won against the Karabakh militia. This must be understood. Unfortunately, the euphoria of this victory and the substitution of concepts indicated by me may lead Azerbaijan far from where it would like to go. Azerbaijan will not be the first among those who have lost their way. I have already mentioned Georgia and Ukraine, which are currently reaping the fruits of their own delusions.

In addition, if we draw an analogy between current Azerbaijan and current Ukraine, then it is appropriate to discuss it here, otherwise, I think that this discussion should be moved to this thread.

I have already compared the ukrops Nazis to rabid dogs and wrote the same way that those who think they can control rabid dogs are very mistaken. Here are examples of the actions of these rabid dogs. Yes, so far this is happening "on the periphery", but where is the guarantee that they will not consider something like this useful for themselves on the territory of their owners? Today, for example, it's reported an explosion and fire at a refinery in Louisiana, USA, and the evacuation of a neighboring town. Have anybody seen any ukrop nearby? I'm not saying anything, but they're good at doing things like that.
Ukraine attacked the Druzhba oil pipeline with drones and missiles
On the night of August 22, 2025, the Ukrainian armed forces attacked the Druzhba oil pipeline, using not only unmanned aerial vehicles, but also missiles, which was the most powerful blow to this infrastructure in recent times. This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto after a telephone conversation with Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin.

According to Szijjarto, the Russian side reported that the repair of the damaged section of the pipeline would take at least five days. The attack led to a temporary suspension of oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia, which caused a sharp reaction in Budapest.

"This is the third attack on an oil pipeline in a short period of time, which is unacceptable and threatens the energy security of our country," the Hungarian minister said.

He stressed that Hungary considers such actions as an attempt to draw the country into a conflict from which it seeks to distance itself.

Szijjarto expressed hope that the European Commission would fulfill its previously given written obligations and take measures against Ukraine to ensure uninterrupted oil transportation to Hungary.

"We hope that five days will be enough for the European Commission to intervene and prevent further supply disruptions," he said.

The Druzhba oil pipeline, one of the key routes for Russian oil exports to Europe, provides a significant portion of supplies to Hungary and Slovakia.

In Colombia, an FPV drone shot down a police helicopter
Two major terrorist attacks took place in Colombia on August 21, 2025, killing 18 people and leaving dozens injured. The first incident was a car bomb explosion near the Marco Fidel Suárez military airbase in Cali, which killed six people and injured 60 others. The second case was an attack by an FPV drone that shot down a UH—60 Black Hawk police helicopter in the department of Antioquia, where 12 policemen were killed and five were injured. In addition, another unidentified explosion occurred in the Kali shopping district, the victims of which have not yet been reported.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro condemned the attacks, calling them revenge by drug traffickers for the government's active actions against drug production. According to him, the attacks were organized under the leadership of Ivan Mordisco, a former field commander of the First Front of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), who now heads a dissident group that did not accept the 2016 peace agreement. Authorities have linked the attacks to the activities of Estado Mayor Central (EMC), a federation of FARC dissidents working with drug cartels.

As part of the investigation, one suspect has already been detained in connection with the attack in Cali. Colombian authorities have stepped up operations to search for FARC dissidents and their associates from drug cartels. According to the UN, in 2023, the area of coca crops in Colombia reached a record 253 thousand hectares, which increases the influence of drug traffickers and related groups.

Particular attention was drawn to the fact that an FPV drone was used to attack a helicopter, which indicates a high level of training for militants. Experts note that Colombian mercenaries involved in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine gain drone operation experience there, which is then applied in Colombia.

The loss figures are quite close, but the severity of these losses is incomparably different.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost their seventh combat aircraft since the beginning of the year
The Ukrainian Air Force suffered another loss: on the night of August 23, 2025, a MiG-29 fighter jet was destroyed, becoming the seventh combat aircraft lost by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) since the beginning of the year. This was reported by Ukrainian military sources, confirming the death of pilot Major Sergei Bondar during a combat mission.

Since the beginning of 2025, in addition to the MiG-29, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost three F-16A Block 20 MLU fighters, two Su-27s and one Mirage 2000-5F. These losses have significantly weakened Ukraine's aviation fleet, which is already experiencing difficulties due to intense fighting and limited opportunities to replenish equipment.

The causes of the MiG-29 disaster have not yet been established, an investigation is underway, during which possible technical malfunctions, human factors or external influences will be considered.

Sixth in the last 10 months: A US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet crashed off the coast of Virginia

The US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet crashed off the coast of Virginia. This is the sixth F-18 lost by the US Navy in the last ten months. The incident was reported by the press service of the American Navy.

Assigned to the 83rd Strike Fighter Squadron at the Oceana Air Force Base in Virginia Beach, the aircraft was performing a training flight. Nothing has been said about the presence of weapons on board. The pilot managed to eject and stay alive, after being discovered by search teams, he was taken to a medical facility. As of now, there is no data.

The cause of the crash of the F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter has not been established, the incident is under investigation. The plane is at the bottom, and a decision will be made later to raise it to the surface.

According to the US Navy, this is the sixth F/A-18 aircraft lost in the last 10 months, starting in October last year, when two pilots were killed in the crash of an EA-18G Growler, a modification of the F/A-18E Super Hornet, in Washington State. Another F/A-18 was shot down by "friendly fire" from a missile cruiser during attacks on the Yemeni Houthis in December 2024.

This year, it all started in February, when the EA-18G Growler crashed in San Diego Bay in Southern California, the pilots ejected. Two more aircraft were lost by the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea. One fell overboard while being towed to the hangar, the other while trying to land on the deck.

Since Azerbaijan is an ally of Turkey and Israel, I have to wonder if this is a prelude to some of Russia's future strategic maneuvers in West Asia, once Ukraine gets wrapped up this year according to the C's?
Yes, it seems like Georgia refused being another Ukraine and instead both Azerbaijan and Armenia are now much closer to the US. Though realistically, neither of the two can threaten Russia - not unless Turkey gets involved, which is very unlikely.

It does look like the globalist madmen want a war between Russia and the EU at some point, maybe in a few years. And according to some analysts, the US could benefit massively from the resulting capital flight and migration from the EU - basically a continuation of the US plunderning of Europe on a much larger scale.
