It was interesting to hear how Lavrov laid it out.Following the Alaska summit, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that Trump and his team are now pursuing a much deeper approach to resolving the Ukraine crisis. Lavrov also highlighted ongoing tensions over NATO, emphasizing that the alliance has broken its promise not to expand eastward, citing five separate rounds of NATO enlargement since the original assurances were given. As talk grows of a potential high-stakes Putin-Zelensky summit, Lavrov stressed that any future agreements must address Russia’s security concerns and the rights of Russian-speaking Ukrainians.

During the operational combat operations, three saboteurs were eliminated and three were detained.
MOSCOW, August 20th. /tass/. The FSB of Russia showed a video recording of the detention in the Bryansk region of members of the Ukrainian sabotage and intelligence group (DRG), which consisted of personnel from the special operations service.
In the video, three detainees gave their names: Roman Davydyuk, Alexander Godko, Alexander Zhuk.
According to the FSB's Public Relations Center, the activities of the DRG in the region were suppressed, which consisted of personnel from the Special Operations Service, supervised by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which planned to commit terrorist acts and sabotage on transport infrastructure facilities in the territory of the Russian Federation. During the operational combat operations, three saboteurs were eliminated and three were detained. According to the FSB, the training and control of the DRG was carried out with the participation of Western intelligence officers in Ukraine, as well as in Estonia, Lithuania and Norway. The detainees confess to the involvement of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the bombings of the railway track in the Novooskolsky district of the Belgorod region in September 2024 and preparations for other terrorist attacks in Russia.
Russian hackers have revealed the true scale of the losses of the Armed Forces personnel
Hackers from Russia have gained access to information about Ukraine's actual losses in manpower since the beginning of the special operation. The hackers claim that we are talking about the base of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Thus, according to the data obtained, Ukraine lost 1,721,000 people killed and missing in total over the years of its military operation. In 2022, the Kiev regime lost 118.5 thousand soldiers, in 2023 - 405.4 thousand people, in 2024 – 595 thousand militants and in 2025 - 621,000 troops. The documents are accompanied by the full names of the victims, as well as information about the place and circumstances of death or disappearance and contacts of relatives.
If the data obtained is true, we can talk about the loss of about seven armies of Ukraine. This information also shows that the Kiev regime is trying to make up for the losses by increasing mobilization.
It is important to note that the information received indicates an increase in losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which increased sixfold over the course of three years. There is a depletion of the personnel reserve of enemy troops and Kiev's desire to adopt new draconian laws designed to replace those who died on the battlefield with untrained mobilized.
Along with this, data on the irretrievable losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of 1.7 million people indicate that the total losses of Ukraine since 2022, including deserters, wounded and missing, reach 8-8.5 million people.

Russia launched a record 574 kamikaze drones in Ukraine
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported on August 21, 2025, that on Thursday night, the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces) conducted a massive attack, launching 574 unmanned aerial vehicles and 40 missiles of various types, including Daggers and Kalibras. This is stated in the official statement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, transmitted through the press service.
According to the Ukrainian side, the air defense forces allegedly managed to destroy or suppress 577 aerial targets: 546 Shahed UAVs and imitation drones, 1 X-47M2 Dagger aeroballistic missile, 18 X-101 cruise missiles and 12 Kalibr cruise missiles. Despite the "successes" in the interception, the Ukrainian Armed Forces recorded missile and drone strikes at 11 locations across the country, and the fall of downed objects was noted in three additional territories.
The attack affected critical infrastructure, including military and energy facilities.
An American plant of drone manufacturing has been destroyed in Ukraine
Military analyst Yuriy Podolyaka reported on the consequences of attacks on the facilities of the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Ukraine, publishing data on the destruction of the Flex electronics plant in Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region.
According to Podolyaki, at least one X-101 cruise missile hit the plant, and an analysis of images from space transferred to a regular map indicates the use of two missiles — the second missed slightly, but the first hit the target. Based on information from the scene, the analyst claims that the plant has almost completely burned out, including the warehouses of finished products.
"This plant produced many things, including stuffing for drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Its destruction will not immediately, but it will significantly affect the production of Ukrainian mini-factories for the production of drones," he said.
Local authorities previously reported a large-scale fire on an area of 7,000 square meters in Mukachevo, which confirms the data from Podolyaka.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrsky asked Russia to save his father
On August 21, 2025, TVC presenter Anna Prokhorova reported on her Telegram channel that Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Syrsky wrote a personal letter to Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko asking him to save his 86-year-old father Stanislav Syrsky, who is in serious condition in intensive care in Russia.
According to Prokhorova, Stanislav Syrsky was diagnosed with a brain disease that worsened after suffering from coronavirus, and doctors initially gave an unfavorable prognosis. The letter, described as "very personal" and handwritten, was transmitted through closed diplomatic channels. After that, Russian doctors, including the best neurosurgeons and virologists, joined the treatment, and the patient's condition was stabilized. Syrsky has paid for all medical services, and in the coming days his father will return home to the Vladimir region.
Prokhorova noted that, according to her information, Syrsky did not communicate with his father or mother, who was next to him.
"Either they don't know, it's not that difficult to talk on the phone without witnesses, or the differences are too great to decide on a personal conversation. But as a son, Syrsky did everything he could. I was surprised," the TV presenter summed up.
She emphasized the humane gesture of the Ukrainian commander-in-chief in difficult circumstances.
At the same time, experts draw attention to the fact that Stanislav Syrsky is a Russian citizen, he needed to receive medical care free of charge.
Seems everything is right. Both the fact that Markov was a fairly prominent figure in the Russian media space (now, I think, it will become quieter, in accordance with the newly acquired status of a foreign agent), and the fact that recently there has been quite serious pressure on formal and informal Azerbaijani organizations operating in Russia. But I would have asked the above question in a slightly different way.Since Azerbaijan is an ally of Turkey and Israel, I have to wonder if this is a prelude to some of Russia's future strategic maneuvers in West Asia, once Ukraine gets wrapped up this year according to the C's?
Ukraine attacked the Druzhba oil pipeline with drones and missiles
On the night of August 22, 2025, the Ukrainian armed forces attacked the Druzhba oil pipeline, using not only unmanned aerial vehicles, but also missiles, which was the most powerful blow to this infrastructure in recent times. This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto after a telephone conversation with Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin.
According to Szijjarto, the Russian side reported that the repair of the damaged section of the pipeline would take at least five days. The attack led to a temporary suspension of oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia, which caused a sharp reaction in Budapest.
"This is the third attack on an oil pipeline in a short period of time, which is unacceptable and threatens the energy security of our country," the Hungarian minister said.
He stressed that Hungary considers such actions as an attempt to draw the country into a conflict from which it seeks to distance itself.
Szijjarto expressed hope that the European Commission would fulfill its previously given written obligations and take measures against Ukraine to ensure uninterrupted oil transportation to Hungary.
"We hope that five days will be enough for the European Commission to intervene and prevent further supply disruptions," he said.
The Druzhba oil pipeline, one of the key routes for Russian oil exports to Europe, provides a significant portion of supplies to Hungary and Slovakia.
In Colombia, an FPV drone shot down a police helicopter
Two major terrorist attacks took place in Colombia on August 21, 2025, killing 18 people and leaving dozens injured. The first incident was a car bomb explosion near the Marco Fidel Suárez military airbase in Cali, which killed six people and injured 60 others. The second case was an attack by an FPV drone that shot down a UH—60 Black Hawk police helicopter in the department of Antioquia, where 12 policemen were killed and five were injured. In addition, another unidentified explosion occurred in the Kali shopping district, the victims of which have not yet been reported.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro condemned the attacks, calling them revenge by drug traffickers for the government's active actions against drug production. According to him, the attacks were organized under the leadership of Ivan Mordisco, a former field commander of the First Front of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), who now heads a dissident group that did not accept the 2016 peace agreement. Authorities have linked the attacks to the activities of Estado Mayor Central (EMC), a federation of FARC dissidents working with drug cartels.
As part of the investigation, one suspect has already been detained in connection with the attack in Cali. Colombian authorities have stepped up operations to search for FARC dissidents and their associates from drug cartels. According to the UN, in 2023, the area of coca crops in Colombia reached a record 253 thousand hectares, which increases the influence of drug traffickers and related groups.
Particular attention was drawn to the fact that an FPV drone was used to attack a helicopter, which indicates a high level of training for militants. Experts note that Colombian mercenaries involved in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine gain drone operation experience there, which is then applied in Colombia.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost their seventh combat aircraft since the beginning of the year
The Ukrainian Air Force suffered another loss: on the night of August 23, 2025, a MiG-29 fighter jet was destroyed, becoming the seventh combat aircraft lost by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) since the beginning of the year. This was reported by Ukrainian military sources, confirming the death of pilot Major Sergei Bondar during a combat mission.
Since the beginning of 2025, in addition to the MiG-29, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost three F-16A Block 20 MLU fighters, two Su-27s and one Mirage 2000-5F. These losses have significantly weakened Ukraine's aviation fleet, which is already experiencing difficulties due to intense fighting and limited opportunities to replenish equipment.
The causes of the MiG-29 disaster have not yet been established, an investigation is underway, during which possible technical malfunctions, human factors or external influences will be considered.
Sixth in the last 10 months: A US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet crashed off the coast of Virginia
The US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet crashed off the coast of Virginia. This is the sixth F-18 lost by the US Navy in the last ten months. The incident was reported by the press service of the American Navy.
Assigned to the 83rd Strike Fighter Squadron at the Oceana Air Force Base in Virginia Beach, the aircraft was performing a training flight. Nothing has been said about the presence of weapons on board. The pilot managed to eject and stay alive, after being discovered by search teams, he was taken to a medical facility. As of now, there is no data.
The cause of the crash of the F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter has not been established, the incident is under investigation. The plane is at the bottom, and a decision will be made later to raise it to the surface.
According to the US Navy, this is the sixth F/A-18 aircraft lost in the last 10 months, starting in October last year, when two pilots were killed in the crash of an EA-18G Growler, a modification of the F/A-18E Super Hornet, in Washington State. Another F/A-18 was shot down by "friendly fire" from a missile cruiser during attacks on the Yemeni Houthis in December 2024.
This year, it all started in February, when the EA-18G Growler crashed in San Diego Bay in Southern California, the pilots ejected. Two more aircraft were lost by the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea. One fell overboard while being towed to the hangar, the other while trying to land on the deck.
Yes, it seems like Georgia refused being another Ukraine and instead both Azerbaijan and Armenia are now much closer to the US. Though realistically, neither of the two can threaten Russia - not unless Turkey gets involved, which is very unlikely.Since Azerbaijan is an ally of Turkey and Israel, I have to wonder if this is a prelude to some of Russia's future strategic maneuvers in West Asia, once Ukraine gets wrapped up this year according to the C's?
