I want to clarify my position. It largely coincides with what you wrote.
The phrase about Ukraine's creeping entry into NATO is alien. I wrote that "some people think so." Personally, I don't think so, but at the same time I would refer to formal problems such as illegitimate "tragicomedian", etc. only be the last one. Here we need to remember what everyone has been buzzing about - an order based on rules. We also need to understand what we are not told openly about, but what follows naturally from this. The one who "keeps" this notorious "order" will always come up with "rules" convenient for himself. With regard to the issue under discussion, I have no doubt that Ukraine would have become a member of NATO long ago if it had been necessary and all the formalities in one form or another (either in the form of exceptions to the rules, or by changing the rules accordingly) would have been observed.
A very illustrative example of these "rules" today is the situation with frozen Russian assets. Are those who have frozen assets and who want to confiscate them worried about some kind of legality? Obviously not. They only worry about the consequences. In other words, now they are trying to come up with new "rules" so that it looks "legitimate" to others and so as not to create unpleasant consequences for themselves.
But back to NATO. There is another aspect of what concerns NATO, it is the actions of the alliance on the territory of Ukraine. It is precisely the actions or possible actions of NATO or its individual members that are a much more urgent problem today than the problem of Ukraine's membership in NATO.

Фраза о ползучем вступлении украины в НАТО чужая. Я так и написал, что "некоторые считают". Лично я так не думаю, но при этом ссылаться на формальные проблемы типа нелегитимного "трагикомедика" и пр. я бы стал только в самую последнюю очередь. Здесь нужно помнить то, о чём нам прожужжали все уши- порядок, основанный на правилах. Нужно понимать также то, о чем нам не говорят открыто, но что само собой вытекает из этого. Тот кто "держит" этот пресловутый "порядок" всегда придумает удобные для себя "правила". Применительно к обсуждаемой проблеме, я не сомневаюсь в том, что Украина давно уже стала бы членом НАТО, если бы в этом была необходимость и все формальности в том или ином виде (либо в виде исключений из правил, либо путем соответствующего изменения правил) были бы соблюдены.
Весьма показательным примером этих "правил" на сегодняшний день может служить ситуация с замороженными Российскими активами. Те, кто заморозил активы и кто хочет их конфисковать разве переживают о какой то законности? Очевидно, что нет. Они переживают только о последствиях. In fact, the idea is to resolve the conflict by analogy with what happened after the defeat of Germany in World War II, whose territory was actually divided between the USSR and the West, the publication points out.

La Repubblica notes that before the US elections, many decisions related to the conflict in Ukraine are frozen. Russia, in fact, is waiting for the results of the elections and is not interested now in negotiations with President Joe Biden on any options for resolving the conflict.

According to The New York Times, citing sources, Ukraine will not be invited to join the bloc at the upcoming NATO summit in Washington in July, despite the threat of defeat, which the publication calls "increasingly real." The United States and Germany oppose the country's membership. Instead, Kiev may be offered a "roadmap" at the summit, the interlocutors of the newspaper said.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg yesterday named two possible outcomes of the conflict in Ukraine: thanks to the help of Western allies, Kiev will be able to regain more territories or Ukraine will lose even more territories if assistance does not arrive.

Почему то этим смешным людям кажется разумным такой размен. Налицо полное игнорирование объективной реальности в общем и в частности игнорирование интересов и целей России. Недопущение угрожающей России деятельности НАТО на территории Украины явилось одной из целей как присоединения Крыма к России в свое время, так и начала СВО. Теперь в ситуации, когда Украина готова рассыпаться окончательно и полностью попасть под контроль России, они говорят: хорошо, так и быть, возьмите то, что вам удалось к этому моменту, а остальное будем контролировать мы. Со всеми вытекающими отсюда последствиями, очевидно негативными для России. С какого такого пуркуа России должно быть это интересно?
Эта новость с украинской стороны почти без сомнения будет подана таким образом, что русские орки беспощадно долбят большими калибрами (больше всего похоже на ФАБ 500 с УМПК) по мирному городу. На фото с последствиями удара очень явственно различается пакет направляющих от Урагана, он имеет очень характерный вид. От Града (или Вампира) не осталось ничего узнаваемого, он испарился. Валяется только пара невзорвавшихся ракет, но мне не хватает квалификации, чтобы на таких фото определить принадлежность их к конкретной системе.

The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that 3,000 employees of the private military company Wagner, along with a commander with the call sign Ratibor, will join the Akhmat special forces.

"The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has already allocated the required number of vacancies in the unit. In the near future, all organizational issues will be resolved, and the fighters will be able to begin performing operational combat tasks," Kadyrov wrote on his telegram channel.

According to him, Ratibor was treated for a long time after being injured. However, now, together with 3 thousand fighters, he is ready to return to the zone of a special military operation, now as part of the Akhmat.

He added that the employees of the Wagner Private Security Company are highly efficient and able to perform "the most difficult tasks in high-risk conditions."

"The decision to join the Akhmat special forces of former PMCs fighters is a strategically important step in strengthening the country's defense capability and increasing the effectiveness of our unit," Kadyrov concluded.

Commander of the Akhmat special forces, deputy commander of the 2nd Army Corps of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Apty Alaudinov said on video that Ratibor would be the commander of the new formation. "We will form the regiment from the personnel who previously served directly under him," Alaudinov said. He added that separate battalions formed from former fighters of the Wagner PMCs are already operating as part of the Akhmat.

On December 22, 2023, Kadyrov announced that a new group of volunteers had flown from Grozny to the special operation area. According to him, they arrived in Grozny from different parts of Russia. In total, 36 thousand volunteers went from Chechnya to the SVO zone. At the same time, 15.5 thousand of them passed through the Russian University of Special Forces.

Earlier it became known that as part of the Akhmat special forces, a detachment called "Tuning Fork" was formed, which included former employees of the Wagner PMCs.

Вчера появилась интересная новость о формировании в составе формирования Ахмат некоего подразделения из бывших бойцов ЧВК Вагнер под командованием известного командира с позывным Ратибор. Они называют это полком, но численность называют 3000. Это уже почти бригада. В любом случае это очень хорошая новость потому что эти люди безусловно умеют по настоящему, по современному воевать. Вагнер не зря считали очень эффективным.
Интересно также то, что представители ЧВК Вагнер, действующего в Африке отреагировали на это сообщение. Они заявили, что ЧВК Вагнер действует только в Африке и те, кто не там не имеют к Вагнеру отношения. Наверно для них это важно.
