"A solar wind stream flowing from the indicated coronal hole should hit Earth's magnetic field on July 13th or 14th. " - perhaps it's related?
 
That really is.... Phenomenal! It could be auroral but I don't think I've ever seen anything like that.

They say it lasted about one hour, yet no one caught it on video :(

Here's hoping someone did and it just hasn't gone up yet. That would be cool to watch.

Another news today here in whatsonxiamen.com also was feared to be a precursor to some earthquakes!! Oh, my goddness! I can't sleep now!!
