Debra
Dagobah Resident
One of my Nieces is a Bird Whisperer.
She has worked summers at a Raptor Rescue and Rehab, here on the Island for the last 5 years.
This picture is of her very first full time assignment.
I am so very proud of her commitment and love and appreciation for nature and all the creatures.
She will be caregiver and trainer to these two little darlings. They are rescued American Kestrel sisters, and she has named them Taylor and Dori.
A picture of my nephew taking pictures of two resident Bald Eagles.
One of the eagles had been found poisoned, I seem to recall, and the other has a damaged wing which he got from attacking an airplane. Eagles are very territorial, and they usually don't survive their "Kamikaze" assaults on planes.
This guy did, and now lives a Superstar life of leisure!
My niece with her first training bird buddy.
His name is Vega, and he is a Harris Hawk.
He is very tame and tolerant, but, still a Raptor and not to be, I guess trusted would be the term to use.
