Read Wave series, what next?

Which of Laura's books should I read now? I read the 8 volumes of the Wave online. Thanks.

The Secret History of the World is one of my favorites, have read it twice now. Another of my favorites is Comets and the Horns of of Moses ;)

There are many possibilities in a general way :). With which questions did you come up after reading the wave series, what would you like to answer next? Eventually Amazing Grace is a good tip too.

For a general inspiration you can have a look here:

Recommended Books from the QFS

Wait, are all 8 wave series available (and if so, where can I get volume 5-8) for free or is it only the first 4?

Fwiw have a look here: Cassiopaea Homepage there you can find on the left side bar all 8 volumes. Or you can buy hard copies i.e. from Red Pill Press or kindle versions on Amazon beside hard copies as well.

My suggestion, fwiw, is to look at the section headings in the recommended books thread and consider which ones will be most practical and beneficial for you personally.

For example, if you have little or no means to change your diet at present, reading the technical nutrition books isn't going to help, practically, until you get out of that situation. It would be sufficient, in the mean time, to get a broad understanding just by reading the referenced threads in the footnotes. Similarly, if dealing with people is a very major issue (again, for you at present), then you'll find the cognitive science and especially the narcissism books indispensable.

I'd also recommend, from my experience, to read in two or three areas at a time, because reading books from start to finish sequentially can be much more tedious, and it kind of becomes reading for the sake of just "getting through the material". Watch out for that. G says: "First it is necessary to understand." Mixing topics you're more familiar with and others not so much in this way also seems to help.

As to which books first exactly, that you'll have to figure out yourself based on your self-observations and specific recommendations and comments from other forum members. Again, the footnotes in the book list thread, and the threads linked, is your best starting (continuing) place imo.

This is by no means a comprehensive guide, it's really what comes to mind for me since I'm dealing with trying to soak up "the basics" in the most efficient way I can. But perhaps it can be fleshed out by others so that readers that have a lot to get through (which includes some of us that have already covered a significant amount) can organize our knowledge building more practically, thus speeding up progress and lessening the potential despair of the overwhelming and increasing volume of material collected.

I have completed the Wave Series and I am reading The Noah Syndrome. I find the work of Mrs. Knight-Jadczyk a detailed investigated work and back by sound reasoning. I will continue my study of her work no matter how many obstacles come my way. The Truth just is!

just trying to get through the last chapters of Secret History... i have to admit that this book is really hard reading. The Incredibly vast amount of information there, is just overwhelming. And the book kinda wants you to be well read in those areas that it covers too. I really can't get it done without looking something from google or from somewhere else from almost every page. And everything you have to look up for clarification is almost like reading three books in one. I've been reading it alongside the wave series and after almost two years :D (did i mention that I'm a slow reader) i'm glad to say that I'm almost done. I somehow managed to get In Search Of The Miraculous in there which i feel cleared up a lot.

I have already bought Horns of Moses so i think i will be continuing with that. If I'm really honest i feel as if i need to start with the wave from the beginning and secret history too but i'll return to that maybe after Horns Of Moses... maybe that book clears things up more

not complaining or anything. Reading all of it has been an absolute adventure. I can't even begin to count all the quarrels I've had with my woman about all of it (She's a master in Psychology) and also all the illuminating conversations I've had with her.

As for questions about it all... It's really hard to ask about anything since it's probably covered in the next chapter:)

Hi Timmyman, Just a thought but maybe you should look into Strategic enclosure to avoid any unwanted tensions and problems with someone who might not be open to the material.

Cool thanks for that...

I was somewhat confused on the part about you need to give to the esoteric work in order to receive. I i thought that was completely different to what Gurdjeff was saying. the way i got it was to start sharing this knowledge but yes, you cannot share if you are not asked and even if you are asked, do it carefully.
I just did finish the 8th wave book and there is the part about debugging the universe and Laura kinda asks, What are you going to do? And I really do not know the answer to that. I have always been going about it like once i get wiser the way will get clearer kinda way. But hjea that got me thinking :)

Despite being a slow reader myself [about to finish Volume 3, working through HoM] I concur. It's eye-opening.

Reading through Strategic Enclosure, it states:

...a manifestation of a resolution to shut oneself up to the influences of illusion and instead open only to those influences that lead one to objectivity.

Maybe this is not the place to ask but is there such a thing as a 'creative' neural impulse, inherit to an individual, that seems most suspectible to these influences of illusion - creative in the sense of art, music, theatre, companionship/groups, ideas and the like? I recall Gurdjieff claiming these as "equally mechanical" to everything else man undertakes. What I am trying to get to I guess is a better understanding of such influences.

It gets me thinking too..

For example I was asked on board a creative group project today. I felt pretty striken for time but went along & observed. When the pitch was fired, I noticed an unusual excitement - almost mania - overwhelm me & found it hard to calm down. This often happens when someone dangles a creative prospect with an audience, & to a lesser extent, prize or acknowledgement in store in front of me; I feel as though I become subjective, somewhat manic & lose sight of objectivity..like a compass with a magnet nearby. The willing audience/teammates for the opportunity to share with them, to share something that may help them..
but I'm a skeptic & feel as if it's 'false' - following that impulse from past experience has drained me more than preserved. In short it looks like a rebellion of a little 'I'.

Will keep reading, observing & searching through, it seems to be greatly imprinted in my make-up.
