Recent Dream 'Water World'

G'Day!

I don't rightly remember or take my dreams with me back into the waking world these days. It's probably due to the weed. No matter, I still manage to get a few glimpses, this one... bothered me. I feel it necessary to report it here, from last Thursday night PST:

It was night and rain was soaking the windows of the condo or apartment I was in. We had power, a kettle was intermittently twanging in preparation for a coming boil and subsequent tea or coffee. A mechanical clock made a comforting ticking sound. The scene was of lofty leisure, but I kept looking at the pitter patter of the pouring rain on the window...

Eventually, I went for it, I went to go look OUT the window!

Some of the near by sky rises down the mountain were barely visible through the water below me. The odd building could stretch out of the waves, which were battering violently against the half submerged neighborhoods sprawling into the depths of the ocean below.

I appeared to be safe for the moment but there was this fear that the water would raise again.

Then I woke up! A lovely new day.

I never had a flood dream before.

Thanks for reading.

That was the case for me as well. Weed makes one get more stage 4 sleep (the deep restorative sleep) and less REM sleep (where dreams take place). Since I stopped, I've been having and remembering about 2 or 3 dreams a night. One of the reasons I stopped was because of the insights I was potentially missing out on from my dreams.

Anyways, i'm going to attempt an interpretation of your dream:

The inside of where you were brings to me the feeling of a secure, comforting, yet mechanical place (the clock).
Bodies of water can represent emotions, and since you said there was a fear of the waters rising again, perhaps you are shielding yourself from acknowledging certain emotions?
Maybe it's something that once you acknowledge, it will "wash out" certain aspects of your established worldview (the neighborhoods below water).

In other words, if my above interpretation is correct, your dream may be telling you that you are avoiding a process of disintegration that seems ready to take place, and that you may be losing time.

Perhaps/or it is indicating that you are wasting time(getting ready to have some tea/coffee) while there are serious changes going on in the world around you.

Then, there is the possibility of this being a literal bleed through from a future cataclysm, but who knows. There was another dream posted today about a fireball exploding, and there being rain(among other symbols...) So, who knows.

Any of this resonates with you as possible interpetations?
IMHO

Hi Guille

This resonates. Thanks for your thoughts! I felt smug about it when I woke. "I'm glad I decided to live near a mountain range!"

But it does strike me as a warning, that although I'm safe for now, time is still a thing of concern which can't be ignored.
