Refreshing news

Just received the news that I didn't get this university job, I was a good second they say. However, I was glad to hear that I got the score 3(good teaching skills) out of 4 (excellent). It was quite a challenge for me to do a presentation with a room full of teachers and the principal. So overall it was a good learning experience and confirmation that I'm not completely lost what comes to teaching groups.

I had to wait over a week for the results, so I'm relieved to have this over and done with. Now I can concentrate on this other job and make the best of it. To be honest, teaching singing is my passion, not 'musical didactics', so I guess the universe did me a favor here! :)

Congratulations on the great scores! Sorry you did not get the position but sounds like you will do well in this other job since teaching singing is your passion! Wishing you the best!!

Superrrrrrr........Good going Aragon. And congratulation's to your achievement. I have always had a high regard, for those that can take, and move an instrument to sing!

That really is great, Aragorn. And I'm glad that you will actually be able to do what you love.

Fantastic news Aragorn, congrats! Weave your own path I say, your "firm" idea sounds wonderful!

All the best!

Good work Aragorn Congrats :flowers:

Gonzo is right--it is not uncommon for the top choice to have already accepted a position elsewhere or turn down the offer for various reasons. Don't be shocked if you get another opportunity at the U. job, but listen to your feelings and do what you love! Good Luck.

Okay, this whole process of me switching my job profile from 'artist' to 'teacher' keeps surprising me. This morning they called from the university and asked if I could substitute next year for the person who got the position I applied for (and came second)!!! :jawdrop:

The details are still a little bit hazy, I will meet with the staff people tomorrow, but it seems that the person who got the job - let's call her Mary - had also applied for another, "better" position (read: higher status). She didn't get this other position, but since the person who actually got it turned it down(!), Mary will be taking over that job.

Not sure how this all will turn out, but I'm glad to get a well paid job so that I can provide my family with healthy, organic food and good quality supplements. :)

It's funny, I wasn't actually surprised to get this call. I've been doing the whole EE program 3 days in a row now, and yesterday I got a strong feeling that they would call from the university! My 'higher self' obviously knew about it already.

I don't know HOW I missed your version of POTS, but I have just listened to it. That is exactly how I imagined it should be and I kept trying to make it work but didn't have the know-how/skill to do it myself. I'm also glad you did the score because that will help me to get everything fitted in there. Burma may have to transpose it but we'll see. I'll print it and take it downstairs in a bit and see.

Aragorn,

That's wonderful. I realized something for myself, that when I stepped into the flow, the path I should be on, obstacles started falling away and opportunities arose.
Now, although two do not a pattern make, it sure feels like you have stepped into the flow.

I'm really happy for you.

Gonzo

Congratulations Aragorn! It appears you've connected with yourself in the future (as Teacher). Wonderful news!
