Replying to Sott articles

How does one reply to SOTT articles. Many people have replies quoted to them following most of the important articles which shows at the bottom of the page as comments. How does one reply to an article. Is it through this section?

Thanx

Actually, you'll need to register on the SotT page and then, after you're logged in, that option becomes available. This link goes into greater detail on how it works...

Note that there have been changes since the beginning of the thread ( we can no longer 'vote down' articles).

If you have already registered on the SotT site and are still having problems commenting, let us know.

No. That article doesn't help. Let me ask the question this way. If I click on todays lead story...Immigration: Ignota nulla curatio morbi...from that page what would I click on to comment?

There are some wierd things happenning with me and this site. When inside the site there is still a top button (far right) that says Login-but I am logged in and able to post this question. Most programmers, once you have logged in will give you a new button that says Logout. While trying to figure out how to make a comment to the article I tried to login, assuming that there is no button to comment on the article beacuse I am not logged in! (If I can find a comment button things would be fine.) When I attempt to login again(mistakenly or not), there's a cryptic message in green that pops up and says, "You are too weak old man. You should not have come." Don't appreciate being called weak or old. Nor the programmers idea of humour.

Well that message simply means that you're not registered. Try not to take it so personally, it's just a bit of creativity on our programmer's part. Have you registered a new account on the SotT site? Your account here does not transfer, as the link I referenced clearly explained. If you were registered and logged in, then a comment box appears at the end of the article - no comment button, just a box inviting you to comment - but you MUST create a new account on the SotT site. Hope this helps.

Ahhh. I skimmed the article too quickly. It DOES say I need to REREGISTER. There may be some reason for this redundancy-but the logic escapes me. Now awaiting confirmation of the new resistration form via email so that I can make a comment on an article. Thanks for your help.

zigglystarlust also check you have free adobe flash updated in your browser, the comment section will not appear with out this.

<< check you have free adobe flash >>

A "Site Requirements" link might be useful, listing compatible browsers and their minimum version numbers, plus any plug-ins (or other third-party software needed), cookies or other security settings, etc. needed for optimum experience, and, of course, a list of known issues.
