I find his works not only beautiful, but also very revealing. I also have two of his posters on the walls of my house. He mostly do record covers, but also illustrations of "Lord of the rings".

Maybe this little version do not carry a strong signiture of horror and fear in the eyes of this man or the cold and emotionless hate of this creature, but if you could look at larger version of a poster, you would understand. This picture called "the torment". And those are armies of hell unleashed. This is another poster I have. And before you wonder, why I have this one besides "the foundation"

I have to say that there are several reasons. One, I see it as a continuation of the story. Notice the same design of the buildings. Another one is more complicated. It's carries very strong message, it's a message that this what can transpire if forces of entropy will have a freedom and force to carry their plan. It's a reminder. Know the enemy so to say. And there is also "foundation", a hope or a future of creativity. This is also reminder.
On the bottom of the torment poster, there is a phrase from "The Revelations" (ch9.v5)
"They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man".
**Not to be too grim, there is also funny fact about a dog image on a foundation picture.
I saw him on other several pictures as well, a little out of the context. And my theory is - that this is his dog. So, here the game - spot the dog :)
