Russia Begins Operations in Syria: End Game for the US Empire?

Damascus does not want Russia to leave Syria to the detriment of relations between the two countries - https://tass.ru/mezhdunarodnaya-panorama/22799253

DOHA, December 29. /TASS/. Damascus and Moscow are linked by strategic interests, the new Syrian authorities do not want Russia to leave the republic to the detriment of relations between the two countries. This was stated by the leader of the new Syrian authorities, Ahmed al-Sharaa.

"Syria has strategic interests with Russia," he said in an interview with the Al Arabiya TV channel. "We do not want Russia to leave in a way that is not consistent with its relations with Syria."

"Russia is the second most powerful power in the world, it is of great importance," the leader of the new Syrian authorities emphasized. "We strive to [build] balanced relations with everyone."

P.S. When did you (Ahmed al-Sharaa) suddenly realize that Israeli troops are 20 kilometers from Damascus, occupying the Golan Heights and all the rest of the territory around them (with the full connivance of the US and Turkey in this situation).

Jerusalem Post: Israel Should Prepare for War with Turkey

- Israel must prepare for potential war with Turkey, Nagel Committee warns

Israel needs to prepare for war with Turkey, which could unite with Syrian groups and become a threat greater than Iran, The Jerusalem Post writes. Ankara supports HTS, which came to power in Syria

Israel must be prepared for a direct confrontation with Turkey amid its desire to restore the Ottoman Empire, The Jerusalem Post writes, citing the Nagel Committee report (a commission created by the Israeli government in August 2024 to analyze the defense budget and security strategy).

The document highlights the risk that Turkey will ally itself with Syrian groups and, in particular, wage a proxy war, increasing instability in the region. “The threat from Syria could escalate into something even more dangerous than the Iranian threat,” the report says.

Against this backdrop, the committee proposed increasing Israel’s annual defense budget by 15 billion shekels ($4.1 billion) over the next five years, purchasing additional F-15 fighter jets, tanker aircraft, drones and satellites, improving the effectiveness of air defense systems and building a protective barrier along the Jordan Valley.

The report was presented to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on Monday, January 6. “We are witnessing fundamental changes in the Middle East. Iran has long been our greatest threat, but new forces are entering the arena and we must be prepared for the unexpected. This report is a roadmap for securing Israel's future," Netanyahu said.

Hello,

I am starting a thread about Syria. Keeping track of the events, as they unfold, for reflection and reference if needed.

The Syrian regime was pretty stable, benefitting from Russian help, but a coup of some sort recently took place and we see the exact same scope than during the last decade.

Syria was a promising country for the promotion of peace worldwide.

I will post today's Sott article, quoting few points:

'Civil war is now official' - Syria erupts into worst bloodshed since Assad's fall

battles between supporters of the deposed Bashar al Assad government and the country's new radical Islamist regime
As all-out civil war looms, increasingly disturbing sectarian violence has an important minority sect asking for Russian intervention to safeguard their lives.
Latakia hold the highest concentration of Alawites -- the minority sect of Islam that's principally found in Syria, with the Assad family themselves being the most prominent members.

Note: in the past, Syria under Bachar El Assad suffered from a similar incursion; ISIS-affiliated terrorist committed atrocities, specifically targeting Alawites and the Latakia area.

Difficult to not go emotional on that one and to remain at the level of analysis. The situation is currently quite dark and it's a criminal phase, in free wheels.

The situation seems to be the exact same one than during the last decade - but without the Syrian & Russian support. The result is devastating and it amounts to subjective debauchery.

We are unfortunately spectating a form of ethnic cleansing - and such was easily predictable.

We may spectate about the non-intervention of all the existing countries, because the reality seems quite basically mono-oriented:

Entire Alawite families have been massacred

This is exactly what took place when the past ISIS-like surge took place, and it's a remux. Without external intervention, we can easily see how this will end up.

There is a very odd parrallel to be drawn with the events in Palestine, and it's as if the bloody carnage has just spread a bit further - even if "Israel" is not expressely branding its flag in Syria.

"Syria crucified" is the perfect qualificative for what's happening, and it's pretty sad to spectate such low-level entropy, unfolding:

The Western International community seems located in what appears, at first glance, to be "non-intervention" / generic "support for Syria":

As Middle East Eye explained earlier, The UK has lifted sanctions on 24 Syrian entities, including the central bank, in a landmark move that could be a turning point for Syria's devastated economy. Britain has become the first country to unfreeze all assets of the Central Bank of Syria.

The state airline and state-owned oil companies are amongst other previously sanctioned entities removed from the sanctions list on Thursday afternoon. "This approach underscores our commitment to help the people of Syria rebuild their country and economy, including through support for a Syrian-led and Syrian-owned political transition process," a UK government spokesperson said. "We will continue to judge Syria's interim authorities by their actions, not their words."

But it seems that the main stream take indicates some "contentement" / bias:
The new Syrian government inherited a daunting economic crisis from Bashar al-Assad's government, which was toppled in December.

"Bachar bad", "Better Syria for the future", etc. They will have to personally side in regard of the presence of terrorists and the exactions committed, something difficult to match with "a better Syria, a new government", because the priority of any human association should be to stop the current illegal criminal acts.

Syria's new bloodbath was created by failed U.S. policies. What now from Trump?

What is clearer is that America's history of backing terror groups comes with a heavy cost as there is no mistake now that the HTS cannot 'reform' into the required vision of a 'moderate' Islamic government which the West can do business with.

While the main stream community is wondering about such questions, the above consideration is already a second-hand world view, because the group which seized power does not exactly fit any form of "Islamic obedience". The question of hard / mild Islamism stops being relevant, as the Arab world should claim responsibility, first, if we were to bind this group to Islam. Such thing is inexistant.

But these extremists had something. They had cards, as Trump likes to say. In the case of the present Syrian regime it is hard to see what they have to offer the Trump administration, however, to adapt to whatever the vision is of a reformed terror group turned government.
And so, there would be room, not only for "a terrorist government", but as well for "a reformed terrorist government".. Such speculations are related to an abnormal situation and it would be more practical to re-set the basics if we were to remain in touch with objectivity - and thus have a basic look at the different possible outcomes.

"Oh-ho, how far should we endorse a terrorist-reformed government" (while they are, precisely today, slaughtering entire families).

Back to plain data - the EU seems to be too dependant in regard of Israel - it goes as far as "To endorse the HTS":

They have Israel on their side, as well as the EU
And so, without minerals or oil, in the greater part of Syria which they control, they will have to lean heavily on the political support of both Netanyahu and EU officials as they face Trump's reaction in the coming days which is unlikely to be complimentary. The defiance of the EU, which we've seen with Ukraine, looks as though it will be repeated as it has already indicated that it is investing longer term with the HTS government
perhaps indicating that Israel's lobby cash and power has penetrated the power annals of Brussels deeper than what was previously believed.

Israel may be playing a basic main stream game:
For Israel, it suits the hardliners and Netanyahu perfectly well that Joulani and his henchmen carry out such barbarism. It reinforces the clichés it wishes to cultivate to stir hatred among ignorant Americans and gives an extra veneer to its jubilance of what it perceives to be defeating the axis of resistance all the way to Tehran.

Another question which aroused is:
Of course, many will hastily point to the Biden administration and wave the finger at the eleventh hour decision for the HTS group to be given the cash to advance on Damascus and overthrow Assad.

Trump be facing a situation triggered at the last minute before he gets the keys. As Israel seems involved, this would just add to the stack of "Israel at the White House" - a presence difficult to solve yet. He would be committed to this long-solving process and it may be difficult for him to finger-snap. Still, we see Trump as diverging from Israel:
The huge question now is really about the relationship between Trump and Netanyahu which analysts struggle with, especially following social media posts which Trump made after a few days in office which suggested that he was unhappy with the Israeli leader and his desire for war with Iran. Does Netanyahu need to be put in line? Trump may well think that arming to the teeth the Kurds in the North and allowing a civil war to unfold against the HTS could be leverage over the Israeli leader whose days in office are numbered in any case. Alternatively, he could come down harder on the HTS and its bearded leader and send U.S. troops to Syria as part of program which keeps them there as peacekeepers, to police the savages - a similar mentality seen in Iraq. For some, this might seem like fighting fire with gasoline, as, after all, it was another failure on the part of the Obama administration to govern Iraq which led to the creation of the very terror group which is in power today in Damascus.

This shows as well that the HTS terror group is not obeying to the US administration.

Cold War Part 2: This Time It’s Jihad – NATO’s Muslim Terror War Against Russia and China

To understand what is happening on the geopolitical global scene today, you have to understand what has been happening on that same scene for the last 100 years, because it hasn’t really changed much.

...

A ‘communist plot to take over the world’ could no longer be held up (...) so a new ‘anti-ideology’ was needed

...

(...) they would extend and develop the successful 1980s mujahideen project in Afghanistan to recruit, train, arm and fund paramilitaries in ‘jihadi garb’, then guide them towards committing (or being associated with) terrorist atrocities carried out under the black flag of ‘Global Jihadism’

A Time cover from 1979. Russia is the menacing bear. Islam, represented by the crescent symbol, would be distorted into ‘global jihad’ to become the new anti-ideology against which the West will pretend to ‘crusade’ in order to ‘defend Western civilization’. In actuality, the West will spread the black flag of jihad in order to maintain a permanent war footing and thus ‘contain’ Russia and any other threat to its hegemony.

Britam Defence: Leaked Documents: False Flags are Standard Operating Procedure for Western Governments

Western governments (in league with their Middle Eastern client states) began their proxy war attack (via paid mercenaries aka ‘al-qaeda’) on Syria in 2011.

...

Each time I have commented on these illegal and inhuman invasions and proxy wars, I have pointed to the evidence that we are not, and never have been, dealing with a ‘popular revolution’ or a ‘civil war’ or a ‘terrorist threat’, (...)

...

These type of ‘regime change’ operations include the use of several scurrilous, brutal and, frankly psychopathic tactics:
  • A covert effort (often many years in advance of any direct involvement) to destabilize the target government by funding ‘opposition groups’ within and outside the country in question.
  • A covert effort to destabilize the target government by funding armed groups (often described as ‘rebels’) within the target country to sow chaos and create the impression (or the reality) of a civil war. Civil war can be ‘manufactured’ in a country by way of a protracted campaign to stoke the flames of any latent and otherwise inoffensive ideological or religious differences among the civilian population in the target country.
  • In the CIA book of ‘how to effect a foreign coup’ death squads have been repeatedly used to abduct and murder civilians based on religious and/or political beliefs of the civilians. If this strategy is pursued for long enough, it can and does eventually lead to a manufactured ‘civil war’, or at least the appearance of one. These tactics has been used by the CIA in recent years, most notably in Iraq and Syria, but also in Libya.
  • Western ‘Security contractors’ (aka Western mercenaries and the companies that employ them) are also used to gather direct intelligence inside the target country and provide direct training, intelligence and weapons to the death squads.
  • If these tactics do not lead to the removal of the targeted government (or the murder of the leader and any ‘objectionist’ high-ranking members of the government) a phony pretext (aka a plausible lie) must then be found for the direct bombardment or invasion of the target country by Western military forces.

I have the feeling that reality is barbarism disguized in "geopolitism". Is there actually any form of geopolitics in this? Why is Erdogan seemingly involved? Is he really?

"Kristallnacht" against the Alawites in Syria

The new regime increased the humiliations of the Alawites (Nuçairïs). They are fired from their jobs without being paid. In the street, the jihadists arrest them, and force them to bray like donkeys, or bark like dogs, before beating them in public. In three days, one to three thousand of them were murdered in pogroms, first on the Mediterranean coast, then throughout the country. Thousands of Alawites took refuge in the Russian military bases in Tartus and Hmeimim where they were welcomed.

Quickly expanding on those two bits:

Genocide at the Meditteranean sea
  • medias / people busy with "Ukraine is part of Europe"
  • medias / people focusing on "remote far-away conflicts"

Russia is still helping Syria
  • cf recurring reportings of "Putin abandoned Assad etc"

Got a news on telegram stating that, from an Israeli media, the tyrant who overthrowed Bachar is jew.

Here's a screenshoot :

And here's a translation of the TG post (that i can't link because it's a private channel)
THE SYRIAN TYRANT IS A MOSSAD AGENT !

Note from France Fidèle: to understand Jewish politics in the centuries following the coming of the Messiah, you need to read ‘2000 ans de complot contre l'église’ (Deux mille ans de complot contre l´Eglise - Relié par PINAY (Maurice)). Then you'll understand why Syria's new head-chopping president is part of the club.

Joulani, leader of the HTS which overthrew the Syrian president, is Jewish

What a surprise!?!!!! The head of HTS, aka ‘ISIS’, aka ‘Al-Qaeda’, which overthrew Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, is Jewish and a graduate of the Islamic School of Jurisprudence in Tel Aviv. How many other ‘head-cutters’ are also members of the Israeli Mossad?

According to the Israeli news channel Ynet, Abu Muhammed Al-Jawlani was born Yonatan Avi-David and is a Mossad agent.

He adopted the false identity of Abu Muhammed Al-Jawlani and became the leader of the international terrorist group Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

I don't have much comment here as i do not follow much this topic, true or false ? All i would say is that would not be surprising.

Let's see if this info becomes confirmed - great finding!

Here is a very old article - 2005:

«Syria says 400 Mossad agents in Lebanon» :
Damascus: Syria's official Al-Thawra newspaper claimed Thursday that more than 400 agents from Israel's spy agency Mossad are in Lebanon in the latest volley in an increasingly vitriolic war of words with Lebanon's new leaders.

"You have to recognize the danger of having more than 400 men from Israel's Mossad in Lebanon who are working with the other (Lebanese) agents who once supported the Zionist enemy and its militias," wrote editor Fayez Sayegh

"These agents are encircling Lebanon like a belt that will explode when Israel and its strategic ally, the United States, decide," he said, charging there was also an increasing number of agents from the CIA and European states in the country.

Sott's personalized comment goes as follows:

At the present time, with Lebanon now effectively neutered and a pro-Israel management team installed
