S.O.T.T. net access

For two days now I can't open the www.sott.net. Can anybody have the same experience? It's something wrong with the site? :huh:
I can't even access the site from FB. :-[
 
I was able to access it from two separate computers.

Do you have some kind of firewall up or something? What the message said when you tried accessing it?

There is no message. Just blank white page. BTW I use Safari on mac. I can't understand because everything else work properly. :-[
 
I don't know...I update the programs usually when they remind me.
Parallel, do you mean to try another program not safari ?
 
No, just to check it through a proxy service such as hidemyass.com where you type in sott.net. But checking with other browsers (e.g Firefox) would probably also be worthwile.
 
Your IP address is not blocked by the SOTT server, so there must be something else going on either with your computer, ISP, etc.

I'm afraid I don't know what, though!
 
For what it's worth, I agree with downloading Firefox as they seem to be pretty good with most sites. I've been using it for years. If you can, go with a full version (example: if the latest is 10, go with that, not 10.4). I could be wrong, but Safari can sometimes have issues with different sites. I didn't like it when I used it (it came with my mac). Hopefully that helps.

This might be the problem. Maybe the pub uses a service or ISP that uses some kind of "bad site/content filtering", and Sott.net has been blacklisted? I have had this problem at hotels before. They have "free wifi", but they use a service or software that prevents you from visiting certain sites, or you can't use HTTPS, etc.

The only other thing I can think of is clearing Safari's cache. I know in Firefox, it tends to cache a page sometimes when there is an error, and the only thing that will fix it is restarting the browser.

Thank you all for support! The problem is solved. The S.O.T.T. net is working again. It's seems that when turn off the notebook and restart the safari the access to sott.net work again. I send also the help-mail via proxy and maybe that help too.

This is really strange since I'm opening it without any problem. It could be browser issue..

Works fine for me as well. Are you getting a message of any kind and if so, can you post it? in addition to checking/updating the browser, you may also need to update other programs (flash, etc).
