Safe To Travel...

I've been keeping up with SOTT news on a daily basis, as well as checking in here whenever work (or lack of) permits it. I'm well aware of what is coming. So is my SO. Here is my dilemma:

My SO's family has been going on vacation to the same place on and off for the last 35 years. We haven't been able to go in the last 8. They began planning this trip back in January. The main reason for going is because there is an elderly family member that we all believe won't get another chance to make this trip. Although I understand their reasoning, I also know the world is a very volatile place and at any moment, 'something' could happen. We reside in the United States and the trip is also planned in the US.

I wouldn't say I'm scared of something happening. I expect it. I would just rather be home when it does. My gut feeling has been that while things are boiling over here, that nothing 'significant' would take place until after the bogus election. We are to leave this Friday the 19th and return on the 28th. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? They would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I don't think that you should allow the fear of something happening "any minute now" change your plans or how you live your life. Something may happen, nothing may happen - just like any other day in your lifetime. I don't think there is any specific reason to not take the trip, but that's just my take.

Lacking any specific information that points one way or the other (whether it is safe or not) I think going with your gut is the best choice.

I agree with Anart on this. Don't let fear run your life. This is what the predator wants, imho. I tell myself: It's not where you are, but who you are...

Hello everyone. I apologize for the delay in my response. Thank you for your kind suggestions regarding my scheduled trip. I wanted to believe that fear wasn't holding me back. After a very long car ride and more thought, I realized that fear was definitely present in my decision making.
I read your responses, packed the family car, and left. I'm safe and overwhelmed with an acute sense of awareness, as I haven't traveled in awhile. I'm glad I decided to make the trip. I'm fortunate to have amazing in-laws (most of the time) ;) and the chance to 'get away' for a bit. While away, I'm reading The Fourth Way for a second time and am looking into my 'fear' response. I shall return in a week or so. Again, thank you for your kind insight.
