Say NO to TSA TNA groping! Group on FB

Creating awareness about a problem is not enough...people need a viable solution to rally around....and it never hurts if the solution is cute and cuddly.

I've got an idea that been chasing itself around my head for a couple weeks now. It's kinda large for me...waaaaayyyyy bigger than my usual regional/community type actions, but as angry as fliers are going to be after this holiday season, it just might work.

I had the same thought while reading this thread. It could even be framed in a way for everyone to support it, even those afraid of fictitious "terrorists". Like, "Protect our airlines, hire pooches!" It seems the whole TSA thing is just one more step in the push to full blown totalitarianism. Whether it keeps going the way it goes, or there is a fake "rebound" towards the Israeli option. Dogs and pigs offer a healthy third option. Non-traumatic, more effective.

Well, create a FB page first of all. Like: Fire TSA Hire Sniffer Dogs for TRUE Safety! Then put together an article about the dogs and what they can do and we'll put it on sott and the FB page along with lots of other articles that we dig up about sniffer dogs, and let's run it up the flagpole.

<BHG> THANKS! I'm gonna do that!

Anybody want to help collect links/resources for the page? I think one thing that's important to emphasize is that dogs can/are trained to sniff out bio hazards too...which is something the TSA has just glossed over.

Their current invasive security procedures do NOTHING to prevent serious bio hazards like anthrax from being transported in something innocuous like an asthma inhaler, make-up case, etc.

Thanks for listening and I hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving has a great day!

Just thought I'd mention, while I find sniffer dogs/pot bellied pigs a good idea, most Arabs are absolutely petrified of dogs & wouldn't react much better to a pig. They feel pigs are 'unclean'. Most are even afraid of cats! At least that was my experience in Jordan, where pacts of wild dogs are common. And not just small pacts, BIG pacts, I saw a pact once that was over 100 dogs. I thought, I'm in deep doo-doo if my car breaks down!

I could see Arab women literally pissing themselves if a dog was sniffing their crotch. Some might even faint. And that is not exaggerating.

So while this may be a good rally point for Americans, I don't see Arabs thinking this is much of improvement over xrays or feel ups. FWIW

I understand, and the crotch sniffing comments were actually jokes. In reality the dogs can sniff out explosives from 10-15 feet away or better. They wouldn't have to come very close to the person to do their job.

Edited to add: Arab women (and anyone else who's afraid of dogs) have to learn to be reasonably tolerant of these friendly 4 legged helpers in the US anyway due to the fact that service animals (seeing eye dogs, hearing assistance dogs, etc.) are allowed everywhere, by law.

ROFL this is my favorite: "It ain't over till the fat pig sniffs."

The Mythbusters did a good show on sniffer dogs called "Hair of the Dog." It aired on October 6th of this year.

The only thing I didn't like was the sniffer cam, gave me a headache. ;)

That would be great, the guardian <sniffing> dog. ;D

Unfortunately I don't have too much time. FB page "likers" could post then articles as well, if they can find something, so that the main work is not only on the admins of this FB page.

I did a quick search on some articles and what did put me off somehow, that also profiling (arabic people) was mentioned in two articles about sniffing dogs and airport security.

Here is an article about one electronically nose:

Hi Guardian,

Looks like someone already has pre-empted your idea about sniffer dogs. You'd think that "they" were reading this forum!

Woah....hot of the press with the pre-emptive damage control their...planting the idea that 'dogs miss things'....without giving a context to how many dogs are used etc. Also it was only 'initially' that they missed it.

Guardian must have fans at the ('bosses' of the) Washington post, how cool is that? :P lol

The dogs didn't miss anything...there were no "explosive devices secreted in printer cartridges" Unfortunately, the truth has absolutely nothing to do with this particular "reality" we're living in at the moment.

Ya know, I'm about to the point that I just don't want to care anymore. I read the stats on the so called "national opt out" day. If the Sheeple want to passively accept their slavery...who am I to object? No skin off my nose. I don't even fly unless there's a REALLY good reason because I tend to puke from the time the plane takes off until it lands, and my ears ache for days afterward. Chances are the toxins they're pumping in the gulf are going to kill me long before a back scatter x-ray once a decade does anyway.

We've spent a lifetime trying to protect kids from child molesters, telling them no one is allowed to touch their private places...that they have the right to say NO! Now the government perverts get to legally feel them up every time they use public transportation...and the parents DO NOTHING.

I hear that frustration. This past week my child took part in "Personal Saftey Day" at school. They were taught the usual "stranger danger", "good" and "bad" touch, to say NO, get away and tell a trusted adult. For what? So they can then be assaulted by the government? It is difficult to keep that lighthouse of truth shining sometimes.

I hear you Guardian. I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Can I ask, what happened to the fired up ready to take on the world Guardian that last posted before this post? I'm just really curious as to what changed between those two posts........perhaps this is something you could self observe about?
The reason I ask is that if your comments and enthusiasm produced a result of having damage control go into action (in the Washington post no less!) then perhaps other methods of dissuasion went into action against you??
Perhaps 4d STS (through friends, family, negative introject etc) or HARRP by those nice 3D sources.....eating/drinking the wrong things (the negative introject suggesting that you can get away with it), or sleep disturbances?

To see such a 180 degree turn around in your state of mind in a day or so is understandable...but have you asked why/how/when such a dramatic change occurred?

I can only speculate....I hope you don't mind me pointing this out.

As to the opt out day....the day being Thanks Giving - a national holiday!.....Laura already mentioned elsewhere (I think on the SoTT article comments) that choosing that day, it's almost certain everyone would fly no matter what!
What's more important than family?
I wonder who exactly chose this day so that it would fail?
