I'm trying to find that article (month or 2 old) with the guy who sailed from Australia to Japan in the 60's or 70's and the sea life was rich, when he did the same recently everything was dead and full of plastic, does anyone remember? It wasn't specifically about the plastic patches but mentioned. My search terms BTW amongst other were; plastic, dead, pacific, gyre. But nothing.

I left the title a bit unspecific so that maybe others could use it for search difficulties.
