Sharing a calming dream with FOTCM members

I wanted to share the lovely dream I had yesterday. For past nights I wasn't able to remember my dreams or also I had a very tough time falling asleep, yesterday I also had a tough time sleeping, I was feeling really tired but wasn't able to sleep, so I went to get some tea and had a cigarette. Afterwards I was finally able to sleep. But coming back to my dream, I remember lots of faces from FOTCM members, most of them I don't know personally but from Facebook pictures, and besides the ones I knew, there were also lots and lots of people, and we were all gathering to have a big barbecue, I remember seeing some cooking, other chatting, and there was also like little groups were you could go and talk about different topics, there where also kids running around, people from all ages.. Then when I woke up my curtain was a little bit open and the first thing I could see was the really blue sky and the sun coming in, it made me feel like calm in some sort of way and happy.

Despite all the things going on around the world, the issues we are all facing while working on ourselves, and all the ups and downs, it just seemed like a very calming dream and I felt this unity between the community. It was a really nice dream I just wanted to share it with you guys.

 to all!

And I'm just wondering: The sleepless nights where just an exception, right?

Yes Gawan, my sleeping cyclce sometimes gets all messed up, there are days where I fall asleep fast, but then wake up all of a sudden in the middle of the night, but for past days I think I was having lots of stuff going on in my head and couldn't sleep very well, the weekend was horrible, I slept two hours from friday to saturday and I just couldn't fall asleep. But thankfuly it's not something that happens everyday. :)

I second this ricaplaz, it's such an amazing experience. And the most wonderful thing from my experience was waking up with the sunlight :) i dunno if it meant something, but it was just something very calming.

Indeed, it is very peaceful and lovely, Marina9, sometimes I'm just dreaming about real-life connection with our members and it makes me calm and deeply happy :)

By the way, the past several nights I've also had problems with falling asleep. I decided to re-order my sleep cycle I try to fall asllep around midnight and wake up near 7-8 AM. There're no problems with waking up, but falling asllep takes about one hour that is very unusual for me :/

It sounds like a very serene, fulfilling experience. :) there's something amazing about waking up to the sun that almost feels like an embrace, especially after having such a dream.

I guess it's a good reminder that you're not alone.

I agree, sometimes dreams are just coming to calm us, telling us that we are not alone, we are part of something bigger than us but in the day to day sometimes we forget. Night, they say, is the best counselor.

When I have difficulty to sleep well is for a reason. Lately I had difficulty to sleep so I change (again) the hour of my supper. If I take my supper 5 hours before going to bed I sleep very well.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful encounter with friends!

Have you tried pipebreathing and doing the prayer before going to bed, especially when you are stressed? Maybe checking out melatonin could also be useful.

I often do the meditation before sleeping and sometimes it does work. I tried melatonin, but woke up with a really bad headache, im not sure what the correct dosage will be in my case..

Yes, i think this type of dreams or any situation where we can feel connection with the other members are very nice and important, as some have mentioned it's a constant reminder that we are not alone in this journey :D

Gawan mentioned pipebreathing and melatonin, in my case melatonin gave me a bad headache.. but have you tried this two options?

And this made me think about how things are being a mess all over the world, and this was a reminder for me to stay calm and trust that what we are doing in our daily lives with all the changes, is the right way to go :D I'm really happy to communicate this with you guys and create a further bond with the members :D

O wow, thank you for sharing Marina9 ... last night I dreamed something very similar to what you described here, only that I woke up thinking who were those people, and trying to locate place and remember what interactions I had with them, but so far I couldn't remember, but now reading your dream ... funny! And just a few minutes before I spot this thread, my son asked me how it will be if we could know what our dog dream about? ... eh ...
