Sunday June 8th, 2014 - Dissecting Globalistan: Interview with Pepe Escobar

This week on SOTT Talk Radio we’re speaking with legendary Brazilian journalist, Pepe Escobar, roving correspondent for Asia Times, analyst for RT and frequent contributor to websites and radio shows from the U.S. to East Asia.

Escobar’s extensive travels and reporting bring witty insights to Western audiences starved of real information to what is going on in the world. Since before 9/11, Escobar has specialized in covering Brzezinski’s “arc” from the Middle East to Central and East Asia, with an emphasis on Big Power geopolitics and energy wars.

He’s the author of three books – Globalistan: How the Globalized World is Dissolving into Liquid War, Red Zone Blues: A Snapshot of Baghdad During the Surge, and Obama Does Globalistan. You can check out some of his recent articles on SOTT.net.

This is one you won’t want to miss! Tune in from 2-4pm EST (11am-1pm PST, 8-10pm CET).

Terrific! He's one of several researchers I usually make a point of reading when one of his articles is posted to SOTT. Looking forward to the show!

Great stuff - I always enjoy reading his reports. Love his tongue in cheek sense of humour re the pathological shenanigans too!

This was a great show with Pepe! What a crazy mixed up darn place this world is. Glad Pepe could also muster a bit of small humor to round off his dismay at the geopolitical goings-on.

Thank you SotT Talk team!

Is it me, but I have just been cut off.

Problem solved.

We seemed to get cut off at the same time you did. Andromeda discovered last week that the solution is to clear your history in Firefox (Ctrl-Shift-Del), and then reload the BTR show page. If you don't do the history/cache clearing specifically, the show restarts from the beginning. If you DO do the history/cache clearing trick, it will pick up the show in progress instead of starting over at the beginning.

That's in Firefox, anyway.

I think BTR changed their show player software, and it's busted. It didn't used to do that if you got cut off in the middle of the show.

Your mileage may vary!

Great show. Pepe's very knowledgeable. I learned a lot.
Can't wait for next week's show with Pierre.
