Sick and meds question

Hi all,

Earlier this week I was feeling a little off and had a runny nose. Didn't think much of it. But once Thursday came I had a really sore throat and found it hard to talk. I wondered why I had gone to work, and whether I had infected anyone as I was in close proximity to some for a while.

So today I used a sick day and actually had to cancel another appointment I had. I thought maybe I had strep throat because it hurt so much, even to clear my throat and my voice was really froggy. I went to a clinic and they said it was just a sinus infection and gave me doxycycline because amoxicillin gives me a hard skin rash. When I read the insert for that med while about to take it, it said to tell your doctor if you have a hiatal hernia.

It turns out that I do have one. There was also something about brain blood pressure that can get pretty bad, but it's a rare side effect. And to stay out of the sun for prolonged periods, which I don't do anyways. Well, I was kind of dissuaded from taking it. And honestly, despite being too sick to go to work today, I'm kind of feeling better all things considered. I had taken Ivermectin for 3 days in a row, gargling colloidal silver, and even put some in one ear for 10 minutes thinking maybe it was also an ear infection (I wear earplugs a lot).

Well, I only did a strep swab. They offered COVID, but I refused, in the event that nanogel stuff is true (I've taken a few in the past). I hear that strep can have some complications if not treated, but the false negative rate seems to be 5-20% so I think I don't need to worry about that. The concern for doxy for people with hiatal hernias seems to be that it will increase GERD/heartburn issues. After reading the insert, I held the bottle in my hand and tried to do a muscle test asking if it was safe and then ok for me. I was hesitant but leaned backwards in both cases. I would have liked to do the test before reading the insert for more objectivity.

So I was also thinking maybe it was COVID? I looked up new symptoms and only have runny nose and sore throat. But they say this Nimbus variant gives a sharp stabby throat feeling. I definitely had something like that Thursday, and clearing my throat was really annoying. I tested my temperature a few days ago and it was fine.

Not sure why they didn't test my temperature. Or even look in my ear, as I said I wondered if I had a secondary ear infection. But I think it may be just a pimple forming which is not in the ear canal. So I think maybe I'll just not take the doxy, mainly because I'm feeling better, and not sure if I want to have heartburn for a week. My food does digest slowly and seems to sit around for too long.

I think if I just keep gargling colloidal silver and iodine, silver in my ear maybe, and resume ivermectin for 3 more days it might just wipe it out? Although if there's an ear infection too I think you're not supposed to play around with that either. Any thoughts? Thanks for reading.

eh cold showers if your feeling up for it. ( helps starting with extremities legs /arms )
I've done them in the past but my poor circulation leaves me reluctant to try them on a regular basis. My fingers will go numb and I stay cold for hours, which is not good when trying to go to sleep.

I decided to cave in and went ahead with taking the doxy. I was feeling better, but last night I seem to have gotten worse. I woke up after a few hours and my nose was so dry, I breathed in a hot water drenched washrag. I was feeling better this afternoon, but looked into untreated sinus infections, and it looks like they can come back after some weeks. And people have persistent ones for years!

I feel like the home remedies probably work, but I don't want to risk it. And I don't have a netipot or something like that. I also saw untreated it can give nerve damage, bone loss, and meningitis, heh. And I don't think it's COVID because the ivermectin didn't seem to help in the end.

So I noticed within 15 minutes it's like an acid taste in my throat. I took it along with dinner and I don't get that burning feeling when I burp, it's just a background taste. Hopefully it goes away and isn't messing with my (already sensitive) teeth. And I hope waiting 2 days to take the medicine wasn't too long to wait. They gave me Flonase spray for inflamed nostrils, but not sure if I'll use it. I know I've hesitated on taking an antibiotic in the past, and eventually just ended up taking it. I think I was obsessing and being perfectionistic.

See how you feel in the morning, otherwise maybe contact the doctor.

Give the medicine some time to work. I have seen something pretty nasty going around in the north east and it sounds a lot like what you're describing, the people at the office who dealt with it were feeling miserable for 4-5 days before they felt better enough to come back to the office.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hi 3d student- sounds like one of the covid variants to me - antibiotics good move along with ivermectin- try and work at grounding alot;) feet parallel shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent -sink into the earth -see your hands melting into your feet, drop shoulders,as though were on the ground along with seeing your head and chin on the ground -breathe deeply etc- you could visualise the feet as pink -ankles red, front thighs yellow back thighs orange -knees green -upper front thighs blue and back of thighs indigo -hips purple - that will facilitate the grounding in a more streamlined way so to speak.

if the mucous and respiratory tract gett overly sticky with mucous take some NAC-
you prob know all this anyway ;)
!

also nasal irrigation etc attatched is pic of the the one i use :)

hope you recover quickly - lots of rest and stay cosy ;)

Ginger root.

Buy the root as is at a herbalist's or supermarket.

Cut off a small piece about the size of a big toenail, wash it well in water and chew it well to get all the juice out, then swallow it.

It's very, very strong in the mouth. Some people can't stand it, but it's very good for all kinds of viral infections.

Especially for throat and nose problems.

Raw root, just as it is taken from the ground, without treatment.
