Cassie update:
Cassie seems to be rebounding.
I'm soooo glad for you and Cassie :)
Keep going with the all meat diet, I did with my dog Lilly, and the change was beyond amazing. I truly thought it was time come to say goodbye to her. I had to get help from a friend to carry her into a car to go to the vet because she was too weak to walk. I had a ramp built on our house because she couldn't get up the stairs. Her labs were horrible, and the vet all but told us it was time. She's almost 15, which isn't young for a large dog.
I tried switching to the all meat diet recommended by Herr Eisenheim, but I really didn't have much hope..until I saw her tear into her food. She'd been refusing to eat her VERY expensive "dog food" but she gulped down raw chicken, chopped brisket, stew beef, liver and sardines so fast I thought she might choke.
She rallied fast, and is acting like a MUCH younger dog now. Stairs, getting into the truck, up on my bed, etc. are no longer a problem. She plays tug-of-war and destroy the stuffie with the kid's new (HUGE) puppy, chases the squirrels again, and is clearly enjoying her quality of life.
I'm one of those people who can't truly BELIEVE anything until I've seen it. Well I've seen what switching to an all raw meat diet does for an old, VERY sickly dog, and no dog or cat in my care will ever eat anything but raw meat ever again. The new puppy is on the same diet, and he's gotten gorgeous and HUGE. Far from the emaciated, parasite riddled little puppy we found hiding under a cabin.
This is our first hand experience with the raw meat diet Megan, and I have no doubt your kitty can have similar results, so just hang in there and keep doing what you're doing. I have a feeling Cassie is well on her way to a long, healthy, happy life!
