Although this is not mega-news it's a sign of things happening that are far from normal...

Bornholm residents felt the quake just after midnight on Sunday. The geological institute confirmed the quake but the magnitude was unknown as of Sunday afternoon.

UPDATE, Aug 18 at 12.25pm:

The Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) reported on Monday that the earthquake felt shortly after midnight on Bornholm measured 2.6 on the Richter scale. The quake's epicentre was determined to be roughly 10km off of the island's southern tip.

"Even though the earthquake was small, it was clearly felt on Bornholm. The earthquake was registered by seismographs as far away as Norway," GEUS reported.

GEUS said that it has never previously registered an earthquake in that area.
