The bureaucracy has closed the investigation into our family life. It lasted eleven months. And it was a very interesting journey. The remarkable thing was that only during these past few weeks after mulling over strategies and talking them through with my kids did I dare to stand my ground and say no to these small-fry petty tyrants. No, you can't talk to my kids, because they do not want to talk to you. It has been hard enough as it is. And there is more that I said. All in good manners. ;)
I still expect a new attack from them, so I will continue the Work.
I am giving myself some time off, so I have been watching 'Tears of Gaza' and the documentaries on the pedophile rings, so that I am aware of what is happening to other kids in the world.
Fifty percent of the kids that are put under supervision by the family court will eventually be removed from their homes over here. So I have had to face my own fears in this area.
Some vague committee (called the 'Samson commissie') published earlier their very flawed results from some research (they did not want to incorporate certain findings of the researchers). It stated that kids that live in children's homes are twice as much at risk of being sexually molested and raped than at their parents' home. (But I think the percentage of kids that are being abused while in state care must be way higher than that.)
Also, the other day a national newspaper published some articles about a top official of the ministry of justice that is involved in pedophile rings.
Interesting times. :P
Anyway, I think this was a good lesson. I even enjoyed it at times. And I feel somewhat better prepared for all the turmoil that will be taking place.
