I do appreaciate the busy folks at SOTT, and I am not under-appreaciating
these activities or work that goes behind the scenes. I am stating however,
from my perspective that it *seems* to be "slow going" at times WRT the
forum or other "static" pages. I was however clear that it was Monday
(yesterday) and there seemed to me to be very few people on the forum
that day so I "fell asleep" :) I am aware of the work that is needed to
prepare the SOTT (news) pages daily, ie Monday through Friday but this
is not where my "complaint" is.
My "complaint" is that it *seems* that the cassiopaean.org pages, the QFC,
the 'Site Map', the 'What's New' pages are fairly static. Either it is abandoned
or very inactive so at least to me I am wasting my time when I visit those
links (so as to check if anything is new there), and I am looking for 'more stuff'
to read when I have already read most of them, so I concluded that most, if not,
all activity is mostly focused on the Forum or the SOTT news pages. I guess I was
not clear what I was asking... I was asking if there are any new pages that are
updated and if so, how am I (or your readers) to know so that we can check up
on them? Isn't that what the 'What's New' link is about?
If you look at the 'What's New' page, the last date there (November 13, 2005)
shows what I mean by a 'static' page. Can I infer that this page almost over
a year old?
One thing that is useful with the forum pages, is that there is a link to check
up on any responses to posts the poster has posted but only those for which
the poster posted personally. So it is not easy to check to see if there are any
new responses to other threads of interest.
It would be interesting if someone could at least have some automatic entry in
a central place, perhaps the 'What's New' page as a good candidate, which will
list any new pages or updates so that it is the one place one can go to for all
pages updated or created by SOTT, Cassiopaea, QFC, ..., and so on.
