SOTT Email ended up in SPAM!!

Hi all,

Laura wrote an email to all SOTT members and for some reason or other, that email was in my Spam box. I usually just click on my spam box and select all and delete without looking. Yesterday however, I thought I saw something Laura.... but I was a bit too fast and hit delete without actually checking.

Today however, I got another email and true enough it was from Laura. So, please check your spam box for that email just in case it ended up in there as well.

I found it, but I only have the log headers. Can someone
resend it or at least tell me what the message body said?

Um,  I need the full email address or domain name such as
goober.com so that my spammer can allow it thorough,
otherwise I will never get it.

Perhaps provide the email message in forum personal
message to me?

I have a trusted list of emails that I allow through and the
rest goes into a bit-bucket (which i never see) because I get
TONS of spam email messages hitting my email server.

I allow emails from cassiopaea.org, sott.net but I have very,
very rarely received any messages so I am never sure if any
(personal) emails were sent to me since of many, many months
ago.

The email's subject line was "Important Message for SOTT Readers" and it was sent under the name "Laura Knight-Jadczyk".

I'll PM you the contents of the email.

For those of you who use spam filters, just make sure
that forum@cassiopaea.org is added to your whitelist.

Mine came through, but I forgot to add the above to
my whitelist and it was blocked at my server but a log
was recorded.

Thanks for the heads-up! Yup, the email was stuck in my GMail spam filter too, right next to the size-me-uppers and wonder-bras. That sucks :(

I got the letter too. At work I can check my email through webmail and discovered it there. At home, on the other hand, Outlook thought it was spam and put in the junk-email folder. Weird. I 'saved' the email and gave it "add sender to safe senders list" status. Seems M$ has a prejudice towards SOTT ;D

As already mentioned: check your spam filters / junkmail folder and make sure your contact email addy is up-to-date.

I didn't get one either.. and everything is up to date. Also added the e-mail dant mentioned to my 'contact list'.
Maybe it's because I have hotmail.. ?

I have received emails from SOTT regarding notifications of replies to posts, but I have not received any "letter". So, it does not seem to be related to my settings, status of my email address, nor my email provider.

Was it a letter to all members? Or, perhaps, only to those to whom it applied?

Yes, as I understood it has been to all SOTT readers! But have you been registred to the "SOTT.NET email edition"? You can find it on the left bar on SOTT.net

Maybe this could be the crux!?

FWIW, I sent to each one in this thread, who didn't get one, the content of this message!
