The website is not important, this story is on many, I chose this one because it has all the pictures: http://www.awakening-healing.com/Stargate_found_in_Peru.htm

native indians of the region had a legend that spoke of "A gateway to the lands of the gods", and in that legend it was said that in times long past, great heroes had gone to join their gods and passed through the gate for a glorious new life of immortality, and on rare occasions those men returned for a short time with their gods to "inspect all the lands in the kingdom" through the gate.
Incan priest of the temple of the seven rays named Aramu Maru fled from his temple with a sacred golden disk known as "The key of the gods of the seven rays", and hid in the mountains of Hayu Marca. He eventually came upon the doorway which was being watched by shaman priests. He showed them the key of the gods and a ritual was performed with the conclusion of a magical occurrence initiated by the golden disk which opened the portal, and according to the legend blue light did emanate from a tunnel inside.
The priest Aramu Maruhanded the golden disk to the shaman and then passed through the portal "never to be seen again". Archeologists have observed a small hand sized circular depression on the right hand side of the small entranceway, and have theorized that this is where a small disk could be placed and held by the rock.
legend concludes with a prophecy that the door of the gods will one day open "many times bigger than it actually is..." and allow the gods to return in their "sun ships...".
now, this seems interesting, anybody got other news on that?
Let's just open it and get the hell out of here.
(I've been watching Stargate Atlantis TV serie lately)

I know a bit about this, it is called The Amaru Muru, and surely enough it was a stargate... or so legend has it. But I am not sure I would trust the source without further research. Here is what I have been told.

The ancient people that used to use this site were not people at all but Gods. They used the doorway to go to another world and live for eternity. They would return to earth from time to time through the gateway however to inspect their kingdom. The locals still visit the site and pray, believing that their God's could return at any time. The most interesting aspect of this site however is a legend of an ancient priest who fled the site because of an invasion by Spanish Conquistadors. He fled the site with a golden disk (possible key) that was called "The key of the gods of the seven rays." When he returned he used the disk to create a mass of rippling blue water like material that formed over the doorway. He entered and never returned.

I almost forgot... people that come to the site feel energy emanating from the doorway, as well as receive images of stars.

Cheers

Seeker, you basically repeated what was already posted except with a couple small differences, one of them being that those that used the site were gods. What is your source for this, out of curiousity?

I've been around this place, but not exactly there, Puno, and the surroundings are a very beatifull place, there it used to live the Tiahuanacos (1500 b. C.–900), and their structures can still be found, both in Peru and on the Bolivian side.

I was on the region visiting on 2009 and I remember one of the locals told us the stories of UFO's emerging from the lake "Lago Titicaca", and he also told us that because the sky is so clear and there are almost no mountains around and only one airport, it's a great place for UFO researchers and that they visit here many times to study the sky and take pictures. :) Great place, hope to be back soon.

This is actually interesting, aside subjective interpretations.

I wanted to find out objective facts on Amaru Muru
and googling it shows quite a number of interesting
sites.

I checked the transcripts but found nothing mentioning
Amaru Muru...

Have a look at the following link, the quided tour,
its location and the pictures and draw your own
conclusions on the pics themselves...

Take a look at some of the structures you can find when visiting the area.

Hi EGVG,

The first two pics somehow reminded
me of Pi, of course, is subjective. ;)

The site below as well as an ancient aliens episode. As I said, don't know if I trust the sources. Sorry, I missed the text below the pictures.
