Strange "Sinkhole" in Tropical storm - 115 Dead

The tropical storm or rainfall doesn't really explain why there is a nearly perfect circular sink hole in the middle of In the northern part of Guatemala City where a three story building and a house disappeared into....

Pipeslines? Underground empty space?

I just had a look at it Dawn, and oh mamma mia, it is huge. It is perfectly circular, but not unusual. I don't know anything about this area geologically, so it is hard to judge as to what caused it. These days anything is possible.

Their was also an eruption at the Pacaya volcano, near Guatemala City, just days before the storm. Rain and ash combined to clog up all the sewer mains. Strangely, the CNN article doesn't mention the volcano at all.

That is just totally bizarre. I mean, this wasn't even a hurricane! Obviously, there are some details missing from the stories about this because otherwise, it makes no sense at all.

That's really weird. How come it's almost perfectly round and as if a drill punched through the ground ?!

It looks quite the same as the 2007 sinkhole, also in Guatemala (pictures at the end of the article)

So I'm not the only one that looked at that hole and thought "What kind of fresh hell is this??" The rocks are not wet enough for water alone to account for the sinkhole, and the blackness of the bottom makes me wonder what kind of cavern or crater could swallow that much debris and not be visible at the angle the picture is taken? I've seen sinkholes before but nothing with this kind of depth.

I'm with Psyche, its creepy enough to give me goosebumps. :umm:

Here's the two of them:

It looks as if some body chiseled below and let tropical storm to come and loosen it. :scared:

That's exactly what I've been thinking...and digging around for hints of. There is something BIG going on they're not telling us.
