Subliminals work REALLY well.

It reminds of the movie "They Live" by John Carpenter. A 1983 movie about a man that discovers that aliens rule the world and have subliminal messages on just about everything from billboards, street signs to magazine ads,etc... Examples were a billboard of a beautiful woman in underwear. When you put these special sunglasses on you did not see the ad, but a message that says "money is your God". And you got to see that all the rich and politicians were the aliens in human disguise. You can read about it here _http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyQjr1YL0zg&

It was not the greatest movie, but it sure did make me think when I first saw the movie way back when.

Hey Bluestar.

Yep, "They Live" is a really good movie when it comes to waking up to reality of the world. I have to correct you though. When he ("Nada", the quiet drifter, main character played by Roddy Piper) put sunglasses on and took a look at the billboard of a beautiful woman in underwear, the message was "marry and reproduce". When he took a look (with sunglasses on) at the bundle of banknotes held in a hand of man selling newspaper at kiosk, instead of a dollar sign he saw letters "this is your God". Anyway, here's a clip from the movie:

The movie is discussed here. The search engine is your friend.

Thanks, anart. The movie in question is about subliminal messages in mass media, so I thought that in the context of this thread it is appropriate to mention it- I just wanted to correct Bluestar's description of some parts. Feel free to remove my post if you consider it to be irrelevant in regards to the topic at hand.

I'm not saying that it's not relevant. Just pointing out that if you want to discuss the movie, there is already a lengthy thread doing so.

Geez, just by wandering around and carefully placing stuff around in what seems like daily life events. Very interesting.
