Basically the westboro baptist church, Fred Phelps progeny, of the 'God Hates Everyone' infamy, is protesting the San Diego Comic Convention because it's 'Idol-Worship'. The convention goers didn't take too well to his invasion of their celebration and thus a counterprotest evolved.
They really didn't have a chance.
